Here is what vapingzone has told me. The mod was made by riva. The batteries included in the kit have riva printed on them. There are no wires or solder to come lose or go bad. The switch is mechanical with no 2 amp limit

Like I said I have only used it a couple of days. I am vaping twin coil cartomizers (1.5 ohms) at 6 volts and they are working great. The top end is sealed only the bottom unscrews. The threads are perfect as are the 510 threads.

My maxi rs works great I just prefer this mod as a little lighter and the side switch

Well I went ahead and ordered the indulgence. Got it in the mail today. One question whats with the little o-ring and and the warning about over tightening. It says I should place the o-ring between whatever atty or carto I'm using so I dont over tighten and short the mod. When I put the o-ring around any of my atties it wont screw on enough to make contact and fire. I know not to over tighten so I dont strip the threads but I've never seen a warning about shorting a mod this way. Is this a real concern or just being overly cautious. Frankly this warning has me a bit worried. Also on a related note anyone know if the battery connector spring in this thing is one of those thats also a fuse ? I know some springs are designed to collapse if the amperage gets too high say in case of a short.

The Parkes Vaping website states that the Shine "mod will take either 1 x 18650 3.7v or 2 X 16340/rcr123a 3v batteries" making it 3.7v or 6v... what batteries are you familiar with stacking in it to get 5v and 7.4v? Surely Parkes would state if there were other battery options that were compatible...

The 5v NiMh (4 stack, wrapped) 600mAh found here, here, & other places around the 'net are 18650 size, & vape wonderfully on my Shine. They will work on any other "18650" tube mod for that matter. Since we're on the subject, these also work on 17670 tube mods (like my Prodigy) because the diameter is actually a tad smaller than an actual 18650...if they were to be conventionally named like all our favorite mod batteries, it'd be a 17650.

Stacked 3.6v batteries (these are what I use) are how I get 7.4v, & again, same size restrictions apply & they'll fit any mod that can accomodate 123A's. I even have a couple of these for some 3v/3.4v volt action.

I'm sure Bill lists the 18650 & stacked 123A's as being compatible because he's tested them himself, but by no means does that mean nothing else will work.

No problem, just enjoy talking about PVs!

I have a couple more expensive mods, but it's always fun to have that dependable, rough mod that you can take everywhere and not worry about getting it worn down by keys in your pocket or anything like that. And when I meet up with fellow vapers, it's always cool saying, "Oh this old thing? Yeah, it was $25. Yeah, I vape it anywhere from 3-7.4v."

The button on the RoughStack is high quality C&K Components 3A Black Pushbutton switch and though it seems awkward, it's nice to use. It doesn't easily fire in you pocket or purse. Thee only drawback is for certain tanks and cartos, you need to use an extender. The New Goldrush acrylic tube mod is also an awesome choice. It's beautiful and a real bargain. The new model has a metal end cap with a couple vent holes drilled into it.

I have a roughstack in my hand right now and personally the top button placement was a total plus. the button itself is .... but mine hasnt gone out yet and ive I run mine with 2 LiFePO rcr 123A's for 6v vaping and I have now given away all my other devices to people who wanted to try vaping :) im hooked at 6v with dual coils and any pinkspot juice :) took me a min to get here but damn I wont even mess with 3.7 or 5v devices anymore if it cant pump out 6v its not worth my time in my opinion. Go with the roughstack you wont be let down.
