I think I have this correct but wanted to check to see. Is where I have the arrows pointing in the photo the places to place the probes from my meter to check the resistance? I want to build some coils and I don't have a mod to check them.

I've successfully converted the Kanger heads to cotton and now I want to try some coil builds of about the same 1.8 ohms I'm currently using with my eGo C-Twist and Mini Pro tank II. I have 28, 30, and 32 Kanthal and 1/16, 5/64, and 3/32 drill bits. Any ideas on which combination would work well for a micro coil build for the Kanger head at 1.5 to 2.0 ohms? By the way, cotton is GREAT!

Hi Molimelight,

That is correct. If you are using a digital multimeter, make sure you set it to the lowest value on the resistance measurement, usually 20. Place the probes together for 30 seconds and get their resistance. Then place the positive probe in the hole on the bottom of the atty, and place the negative probe on the threads above the seal. wait approximately 30 seconds for the value to level out and subtract the value you got previously to the value you have now. That should tell you the resistance of your atty. I've noticed sometimes its not perfect and you'll get a + or - 1 value once you install it in the tank and then on your mod but not enough to spoil your vape. I can only hazzard a guess on the coil build, maybe someone with more experience. I'm using 28ga A-1 kanthal to rebuild mine and with 12 twists on a 5/64th bit they come out to 2.0 or 2.1 ohm's. Maybe with one or two less twists you could get to 1.8 or lower. You'll have to trail and error it but I've heard those tanks and coils burn hot at lower ohm's and it might be better to run with 12 twists.
