What is the approximate concentration range/ratio of (d)nicotine in natually obtained nicotine and in eliquids? I know the levo enantiomer is predominant, but I can't seem to find any info on the ratio. Also, I'm very interested in knowing if anyone has ever done some chrial liquid chromatography to determine the proportions in common eliquid.

Thanks in advance.

Seems one would not have to do chiral chromatography to do this, just measure the optical rotation of a known concentration of nic. That said, racemization, as far as I know, does not occur, and tobacco only makes l-nic. Since extraction is by far the cheapest way to get l-nic, or just nic in general, there should be no d-nic in tobacco-derived nic-juice. There was a vendor here that was, or is, claiming that some other vendors are selling inferior juice containing d-nic, but from a financial and chemistry point of view this cannot be. Unfortunately repeated communications with said vendor about the impossibility of this accusation have been ignored.

Why are you concerned about d-nic? It is almost certain that it is not present at all in e-juices.

Huh, I remember all that. I also remember Dvap telling him in a nice way what a dumb assertion he was making and misleading others. I though you guys got him straightened out, but I s'pose a pube always curls up again....
