Just realized the luck winner of this set would need some smaller syringes to accomodate for small volumes of flavorings. I keep forgetting we're not operating on the Nude Nicotine scale here

Adding a small baggie of 10 1mL syringes to the lot as well :)

Tell us what you have! Nothing wrong with a description if you can write one for us :)

The conicals are for mixing medium-sized batches in. I use a conical rack to hold them, but any sort of stand will suffice. Shot glasses, cups, beakers; all work as great stands aside from a dedicated conical rack. They are used in the laboratory as centrifuge tubes, but are airtight and non-reactive so we love them. We actually package all of our 50mL sizes in these conicals. Stand them up upside-down! They shouldn't leak as long as you don't overtighten and break the cap with superman strength :)

The only reason we wouldn't want to ship in glass bottles is because of the possibility of cracks or breaking in shipment. No matter how well we pack these bottles, they will still be vulnerable to shock, etc... during shipment. The LAST thing we as a manufacturer would want is our concentrated nicotine leaking out of boxes and onto people's hands! Please excuse our reason (and hopefully ALL suppliers) to not ship nicotine in glass bottles.

For prolonged storage over 3-6mo, I would recommend transferring to an amber glass bottle for longer periods :) Make sure the caps are polypropylene too! Let me know if you need a link of a great place to get some.

Thanks for expaining that about glass. It makes sense now. I do know one supplier of nic shipping larger quanities in glass, so I never stopped to think about it much. Yes, point me towards some glass bottles/caps.

I know for sure key lime pie thats my go to flavor so far. but i thought id start with small basic flavors before i make anything crazy. just so i can get to a point that i know what im doing and what i like, then comes the experimentation lol.

Jake I did make it back in time to enter. Here is most of mine expecting more vapemail tomorrow if it gets here in time I'll add.
Most of you probably won't know what the big gold thing with the stack on top it is ISO2 . I've had it a long time. It is a Isomerizer and Jake can probably explain what it is better than me. I've just started testing with it for tobacco and will post when I have something. I want to get more into and learn what I may be able to do with fruits and other product.
Edit: The Iso is used for extraction.

"Nice a 70s isomerizer! Don't see those much anymore at all. Are you planning to do some tobacco absolute extractions?
You are VERY organized despite not having any storage dividers/etc. Cheers!"

Thanks and yes TBA is what I want to work on. Also if I can learn, I want to experiment with fruits and what ever else might work. I added my newly arrived flavors and also how I keep my stuff organizes.
I've only been at this about a month but I love it.

Ok... here goes nothing... :D

I had to clear up my empty bottles that were waiting to be refilled, along with the flavorings that went with them, because they were starting to take over what little counter space I have!! I cook alot and need it for food prep more than juice mixing... LOL!!

So I compacted most of it into the 2 little boxes on the left...

DIY_2.jpg~original

Here is another photo with the 2 boxes of flavorings I have on either side, my little mortar and pestle (which I ended up using more for spices) and my mixing "solvents"... ;)

DIY-1.jpg~original

If my post should be Lucky enough to win... I would like to PIF the Prize to 4Wheelin4Banger for the "Most Creative Use of Space" Award!! (although I might like to split some of the syringes with him... lol)

And also because the Town he lives in (if that's a real name) sounds like something you would serve on Thanksgiving!!! :D (Ferntuckey/Turducken anyone??)

Thanks!!

Jake,

As I haven't quite started any DIY yet --- I intend on starting once I return home --- I don't have a picture of a lab setup. When I do get it set up, it will most likely be a tackle box in the corner on my kitchen counter... so nothing as impressive as what you guys probably have.

With that, since I live in San Diego, what are the chances a guy like me could get a tour of your facilities? You know... to see where the magic happens

I can read a Cheesehead's mind from great distances & over 7 hours before they think it.
:2cool:

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Or WI has tainted our thinking forever.

I really did think of it. I looked at the contest, was going to start typing and got called away to do something. I would have been the post after SK's. So you really did read my mind. That is scary. :p

I know I'm late to the party and this one won't be a valid entry, but I thought I'd show a bit of it anyhow.
Supplies.jpg
The small silver tray up front was originally going to be my mixing ingredients tray; it holds a single 30ml bottle and a few flavor vials.
It's too small, so now I'm using my original storage tray (the larger silver tray) for mixing; it'll hold (2) 30ml bottles for nicotine (one PG, one VG), two small water bottles containing PG & VG (easier to work with than the gallon jugs).

The two white trays are for flavor storage; they're each a single piece of material, CNC cut, folded and pop-riveted. They've got small flanges on each side for slots in a storage rack.

Since this photo was taken, my supply lot has doubled, and I've switched to small open-mouth jars for PG & VG. I've also realized the 30ml bottles are a bit on the small side, however, since a 5ml syringe barrel will fit down in the neck (making it easy to get the needle all the way to the bottom), I'm going to keep them.

Since my wife is getting tired of dining room looking like a lab, I'll be working on the storage rack this week. It'll have a lot of slots for the storage / work trays, and it'll have a few drawers down at the bottom for storage of syringes, PPE, and other mixing nonsense. It will also be all plastic and aluminum, so I'll be able to wash it in the sink when I spill stuff.

Specialty Bottle - Large Boston Rounds

Their std cap is a PP cap, should good for nicotine usage!

If you order through the website, I believe you get the caps with the thin, flat liner. I called them and requested the poly-cone caps for all of the bottles I ordered; that resulted in a $3ish upcharge for a total of about 30 bottles (well worth the price, IMO).

Still in the research phase of DIY, but I have managed to scrounge up a few items. So far I only have VG, PG, and a couple flavorings. The little hand labelled bottles are just remixes of premixed juices, ignore those.

Glad to see PPE is a dominant item here :) Cool labels as well!

Thanks!!

Are those cookie jars in the background? Those are classic!
Thanks for showing us your mixing station! I'd hope that you sterilize VERY well in-between food prep and eliquid formulation if you are sharing the space, but I'm sure you are :) And that you're not using that mortar and pestle for anything eliquid-related!

Jake,

A tackle box is more than most can say they have. Anything to separate your ingredients is a step in the right direction! Are you on tour atm and waiting to come back to SD?

I would show you our labs where we do our contract analysis but you would have to be a staff at the lab and a guest pass is a pretty strict application process. Welcome to the world of regulated biotech :( Let me do my best to sneak some pictures of the facility when no one's looking though. I just have to be smart about photographing OUR equipment and nothing with a logo, etc...

Like many others here my laboratory is on my kitchen table or counter. Flavors and such are in plastic bins on shelves in my library.

As long as everything has its place! Find any interesting small plastic bins/dividers you would recommend we check out here?

Those storage racks are possibly some of the nicest I've seen! Did you machine them yourself? Cheers on the true DIY attitude! Really excellent work. And yes the contest runs until 11:59PM this evening so you will most definitely be considered for entry

Great to know, thank you! I will get them to be including these with my next order as well. Hope everyone out there also sees Cavediver's post!

I'd love to enter the contest to win the set but I don't have anything to take a pic of, save a few bottles of DIY flavoring and some syringes.
I fear the the DIY'ers would laugh me right out of the forum if I posted a pic of that.
So can I just say I'd like to enter to win and leave it at that? I m going to get into DIY here in the near future and am just starting to order supplies.

The first thing you should learn is none of us are judgmental of the beginner DIYer! We are here to help and improve, not snicker on why we don't have production laboratory equipment in our houses. Post a pic of some of your bottles or whatever you feel comfortable sharing. Any interesting recipes you've enjoyed recently?

The least we can do here is help you on your way to have something 'photograph-able' :)

What about the euro caps? I thought I read where Kurt mentioned those.
