Hello all, I just got this in the mail today and wanted to share some pictures of the SS Chi you clone with the silver plated contacts from AKAVapers.com

I haven't used it yet...still waiting on some RBAs from fasttech..lol

As you can see that there is a slight curbage on the head with mine, but its no biggie its a clone afterall.

The treads on this clone are super smooth like butter! Can't compare to the real Chi as I don't own one.

Here are some pictures of the clone! :)

That's some nice looking mod that you got there Subie! Please let us know how it vapes once you get it going.

I don't think they will come in time unless its a miracle :)! As I am leaving for Japan first week of September and I am pretty sure everyone else will get things rolling with the performance on this thing before me as there are some reviews on it on youtube already.

Got a 510 Voltage drop meter coming from the UK also to test things out once everything arrives :)

I wonder if the silver plated post fits the real chi?? I can't believe how well they cloned it...only this is that the finish and metal looks cheep and inferior but for the cost of 35.00 who cares?

No idea on the silver post fitting on the real Chi, but no doubt its a really good clone.

This mod needs a good polishing for sure! Its pretty dirty upon receiving it from the factory.

I hate this mod. Don't get me wrong, I usually don't have a problem with clones, but IMO this is going to far. When they actually use the original modders name and logo it's disgraceful. They could have at least tried to make it look like their own work. Put their logo on it or something. Is innokin the only Chinese company that's able to make quality original products?

Let's leave the drama and bull-s about clones out of this thread. Here is a good one if you want to speak out about it: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/general-e-smoking-discussion/451441-cloning-ethical.html I'm sure OP doesn't want such discussions in this thread

Good job on taking the pictures. I didn't know that it had so many parts to it. I like the idea that it has an adjustable pin for the atomizer and an adjustable pin for the battery, but I wonder if this will interfere much with performance. Then again, it has silver coated pins so that probably negates my worries.

Is this your first mod? Hopefully you got an atomizer of somekind there, if not, I'm sorry that you have to wait for one just to try out this mod.

This is my first mechanical mod. I have a Evic with Vision Vivi Nova and the Kanger Protank 2. I threw my vivi on it with a 18350 battery it fires good. I like it alot! Just waiting on Igo-L and Trident from Fasttech.

Got to mess around with it a bit now. To be honest, I don't know what to think. It's a solid mod and it's just shocking how well it performs. I have always wanted a real Chi you but never wanted to go through the hassles of owning one. That was back then, I'm sure there are more available pre-orders now instead of the stupid lists Mojo used to put up. I'm a little sadden by this clone. It kind of made me lose interest in buying a real one. I own several high end mods and wanted to get a Chi you when it became more readily available but I don't think I will anymore. I would never pretend that this clone is the real one, nor would I ever tell anyone it is. To be honest, I think I would have been more embarrassed having to tell someone how much I paid for a real one if I did own one than to tell someone I spent $54 for a replica.

This thing hits just as good as my Nemesis and Lux, I've never tried a Chi you so I can't compare to it. I don't have anything to test the voltage drops, so all I can tell is from the vape of swapping a device between this and other mods. I was surprised by how well built it is and how heavy it is. The few clones I own have thin metal tubes. This tube seems to be as thick as the 2.5 GP paps tubes. The threading on this mod are pretty smooth, especially after you apply some Noalox. I kept looking for something to complain about, even the AFC cap which was said to be misaligned seemed to be corrected in the new batch by Hcigar. Everything about this mod looks almost perfect, but I guess that's expected if it's a nearly Identical to the real thing.

I have mix feelings about clones. I hate the fact that designs and ideas are being stolen. But then again what product in this world is not? That's not an excuse for it but at the same time, I feel it's due to the high prices of what is considered high end. I can understand the whole high demand low production theory. But what happens when production meets the high demand. It is very hard to find a good quality atomizer or mod that is under the $70. You really have no choice but to turn to clones. What's really interesting is that people used to think that you had to spend $150+ to get a quality device or mod. That's not true anymore. I'm pretty sure back then china mods left a bad taste in the mouth of allot of vapers. It looks like a change is coming and when a new vapers come on board into this crazy world of vaping. It's gonna be harder and harder to convince them that a name of a modder is worth $180. Because quality and performance sure won't be a good argument.

Sorry for the rant, got home late from work and had to help my uncle out for a bit...barely had anytime to just relax and vape. Here's some pics. Sorry again, this is just my opinion, right or wrong.

I am not sure what to think. I own the real deal, but I knew even back in February when I purchased it that eventually there would be a clone of it.. One thing is for sure, either people that spend the time creating these mods will just stop doing so, or, one of them will start suing vendors that sell their creations cloned from China. Which one of these prophecies will come to be is just a matter of time. As for this clone, I can bet that Mojo might stop making any further Chi-You's..

I picked one up as well, from a co-op, a while back. I have a brass one comming as well soon so I can mix and match.

I also have mixed feelings about clones in general. I too own several high end mods and consider myself a collector. When a clone of this quality comes around it really makes me stop and think about the fact that good quality can be had for under $200.

Is it ethical? Meh. I will continue to buy both high end mods and clones. What Im after is quality. If I can get that at under $40 shipped to my door, hell ya I'm all over it :) I buy what I like, what interests me...and will continue to do so.

Sorry, one more question for the Chi-You clone owners:

Can the top cap and bottom cap be used on other mods?

My K100 bottom button threaded on nicely to the base of the Chi clone but was unable to fire do to the button throw.

This mod looks nice but that's where the pros end. The Magneto I recently purchased is much more bang for your dollar and quality. The Chi you clones are personal injury law suits waiting to happen due to the short and shoty post threading and lack of basic insulators. The firing button just plain sucks. The inner tube is so tight that I couldn't fit a protected 18650 through it without porting the tubes out. FYI the real Chi-you seems to be built very close to the clone. They both lack a bottom button insulator, have the manditory short throw and the same locking ring that should've been a reverse thread locking ring. I for one am glad that I got my hands on the clone. If I had purchased the real deal and found such simple things as no insulator on the fire button, I'd probably flip out a little for wasting my money on beautiful crap.

I've recently seen videos on the last run of Atmomixani's Nemisis (that I luckily passed on) with crap craftsmanship and firing issues. Remind you that the Nemisis runs for $160+. I'm now scared to even purchase a high priced mod trying to justify their quality through their price tags.

As for this Chi clone, I have been able to re-thread and replace the battery post, install a bottom button insulator and fix the short throw issue by installing nylon tubing to lengthen the firing button. I highly advise to stay away from this clone unless your craftsman capable and understand why you need to fix the safety issues.

Can you take picture of your set up? Or do a mini guide on doing so?

There are two versions of this mod going around...sounds like you did not get the HCigar one. Im not even sure who is making the one with the glaring defects...the one that is circulating in a few places such as FastTech.

Just like anything else, before buying a mod do your research. I heard about these other ones and was hesitant at first, till I made sure that the co-ops that I was involved in were for the "good" ones.
