Typical. They "balance" propaganda quotes from the usual ANTZ suspects with favorable quotes from vapers and vendors. Nothing from CASAA, one lame quote from Criss of ecig, one good quote from Robert West ("...a global switch from tobacco cigarettes to atomized nicotine would save millions of lives a year") immediately followed by blather from Stanton G. I have to give this overall a :nah:.

(Good find, tho, Lisa!)

I agree!

This was the largest front-page article. Too bad it wasn't more positive.

Good find lisa  :)

We've seen this "commercial Wild West" invoked before... it's a media creation for the most part, first early 'fantastic' stories in print, then Hollywood cashing in on the images presented. The 'wild west' wasn't the case in reality, in general. There were 'incidents' but not the big generalization that is has become to where anti-market types can use it as an 'analogy'.

This forum is a good example of 'self-governing' where bad stuff gets reported and either corrected or straightened out much quicker than any gov't agency could ever do. We are the good parts of the pioneering and 'wild west'. Again, there have been 'incidents', but they get widely known and handled here fairly well, imo.

As I recall, the "Wild West" analogy was first used by either the FDA or CDC. It has certainly been taken up by the ANTZ, we hear it everywhere now, with, of course, the negative connotation of lawlessness and mayhem. I prefer Kent C's term, "pioneering," myself...

:) It's closer to what we do, imo... although sub-ohm may be more 'wild west'

I just read this today. The quote from Stanton Glantz, director of the Center for Tobacco Control Research & Education
"Just because someone chooses to service their (nicotine) addiction by using an e-cigarette, that still doesn't create a right for them to poison people in the neighborhood," Glantz said.

How are vapers poisoning the neighborhood? Really?!? What rubbish!

We should ask Stanton to blog about his ambulance ride to the hospital after being poisoned by 2nd-hand vapor.
