Just curious, is anyone else completely tired of hearing this as an argument against e-cigs?

Never in all my life have I seen it so blatantly abused as a method of stirring controversy. You can get it with FLAVORS?! Adults don't enjoy flavors!! What are they thinking?!?

Yea I know, this post is basically pointless. But after reading a million different articles saying that e-cigs are marketed at kids...I've just about had enough. I don't know a single teenager who has the income or the patience to deal with e-cigs.

Sigh...I know the only reason they're using it as an excuse is because it's an impossible thing to argue.

If only they would point this anger at McDonald's, those happy meals are making the next generation morbidly obese. lol

If you've read posts on this forum long, you'll know that we've had parents reporting groups of high schoolers "smoking" e-cigs in school parking lots. We've had underage wannbe e-smokers ask the forum how to get started! If e-cigs are made to look "cool" and desirable, underage users will find the money. They do for alcohol. They do for tobacco cigs. They do for pot and .... and crack, sadly. And they will for e-cigs if they desire.

Ever had an adult buy something for you? It will backfire on us if we belittle concerns for the next generation of addicts. Support strong sales restrictions.

I understand where you're coming from Bob, really I do. My gripe is that this is not an e-cig exclusive problem, yet they are all treating it as if it was.

It just frustrates me to see an irrelevant issue plastered all over every argument by the media, fda, etc etc. I guess it's just the way our country is nowadays...no one is responsible for themselves, how can they be expected to be responsible for their children?!

Yanno, I agree that if a kid wants something bad enough they'll figure out a way--and that's exactly the crux of the matter. That the FDA and everyone else is saying that it's being marketed to kids and therefore should be banned or outlawed or whatever is ludicrous. The personal vaporizor can be used for illegal drugs IF someone wants it bad enough. The nicotine can be deadly IF it's not used properly. A car can become a deadly weapon IF driven carelessly. I'm not saying that we shouldn't support strong sales restrictions, but I am saying that using the same old tired "it's not safe for our kids" line is getting old. It hasn't stopped kids from getting started smoking, drinking, drugging. What's stopped them is information. Correct, concise, information.
