What's up everyone. I bought some VG liquid that needs to be refrigerated (20 ml for $7 sale). It's Insomnia from Tronic. I tried it on my Patriot mod and it seems to be lacking on the flavor. I am thinking on leaving it in the fridge for a week to steep a bit, but I don't even know if chilled liquids steep since, you know, they are in the fridge. Does anyone here know about these chilled liquids? Would like to get some more and stock myself for a long time since they are 7 bucks.:2c:

Weird, pg is also used as a preservative and needs no refrigeration. Maybe due to 100% vg, but my vg does not say to refrigerate. Flavorings are usually in pg and are sold unrefrigerated. Possibly an ingredient that needs to be refrigerated, or the taste changes so dramatically over time they need to slow the rate of change down?

That's interesting. Today I received a 50 ml bottle of Canadian Player (tobacco) e-liquid, 60/40, 18 mg nic from East Coast Vapes. On the bottle it clearly states Keep Refrigerated (Expiry Date: Jan 2016). I'm going to shoot them an e-mail and ask about it.

Peter

Following is the response that I received from East Coast Vapes about the e-liquid that I purchased:

Hi Peter,

All of our raw ingredients are stored in the fridge to keep them fresh. But after sale, you will probably use all the liquid up before it expires. Some like to hold on to liquids for while and that would be the case where refrigeration is needed.

Large quantities like 100ml should also be stored in the fridge, especially in the summer time.

It seems Strange that the Flavorings we use were Designed to be used in Foods, but that Putting these Flavors in the Frig are Suppose to Ruin them.

It's not that refrigeration will "ruin" them, it's that the cold does not let the flavor come out properly. Once the liquid is at room temperature, the flavor should be fine.

Gotcha.

So Only Vaping an Flavored e-Liquid Straight Out of the Frig is Bad. But if an e-Liquid is allowed to come up to Room Temperature it is OK?

Makes sense. I recently received an e-liquid, ordered on line and shipped to me by post, where the vendor included in the box a small business card sized info card, recommending that the liquid be allowed to reach room temp before vaping. Obviously they knew that the juice was mailed to northern Canada, lol; outside temp right now is -26 C (-13 F) and later tonight it will hit -32 C (-26 F). I don't even want to consider the wind chill temp. Brrrrr.

I don't know why this one needs to be, the guys running the shop says it needs to or it has a 30 day shelf life. There are only 2 brands in there that have a refrigerated series on sale. Maybe it has to do with being organic. I don't know. Does anyone here know anything about these types of liquids?

was the juice sitting on a shelf in the store?? or was it pulled out of a fridge?
