It took me 5 builds and hours of fiddleing with the eGrip rba until I got a properly working KGD wick which doesn't leak or totally run dry within some hours. It might not have been the easiest atty to work with but still...
Cotton / Rayon?
Cut against / alongside / diagonal to fibre?
Use strictly one wick (a single strip)?
Remove outer layers (organic cotton pads)?
Roll tight / soft?
Prime / compress before rolling?
