I know im jumping in quick but i do have wiring and technical experience. Thank you for your help in advance :) (Also if I posted in the wrong place let me know, I apologize I am new)

+1 on the VamoV5 PCB for a first time box project. Very little investment, and the results can be pretty good!

There is what's referred to as the "Chinese dna clones"
Sx200 and sx350 respectively the 20/30 clones. Supposedly they behave the same only the sx350 lets you go to 35watts. Just like the DNA they can't down regulate. Other than that I believe the quality of the chip should be the same. You may want to check some of the solder connections before you install it; but, then again, you would probably so that anyway.
I believe the vamo chip uses PWM the DNAs and SXs are pretty much a dc signal if I'm not mistaken.

You are misinformed.

The SX chips are NOT DNA20-30 clones. They are completely separate chips that have very little to do with one another other than they are both used for vaping.

The SX350 chips have a host of features the DNA chips do not. Polarity protection, buck circuitry (the ability to regulate down - in the SX350, down to 1.5v), user presets, variable voltage and wattage, buttons or tilt navigation, bigger screen with real time battery information when idle AND when firing, and user upgradeable via USB.

The SX350 chips make the DNA30 a dated chip.

And once again, the SX chips are all original. They are not clones of anything.

As far as boards most suitable for first timers, there seems to be 3 tiers now since the sx350 upgrades.

Tier1 includes the Vomo, Zmax, and Vamo. They're the 15 watters in the range of $12-25 USD. Of the 3 I'd suggest the Vomo (if you're comfortable with clone) or Vamo. The Zmax is a single button board, and is a pain to use in my opinion.

Tier2 is the DNA30, in the $50-60 USD range (depending on if you choose USB charger and which you choose) It is plenty of chip for most people, and if you want to build a mod in the moderate price range it's a good choice.

Top tier is now the SX350. It's around $75 USD, and is the best you'll find right now of the easy to assemble boards. The only issues with it are the YH logo on startup if it bothers you ( this will likely be changeable in the future) And it is (at the moment) slightly less available. (This of course changes day to day, since Yihi can pump out the chips)

Wouldn't call these clones, these are originals.

I 'd go as far to say the SX350 is way superior to the DNA 30.
The SX350 is firmware upgradeable and it bucks as well as boosts - which the DNA 30 is completely incapable of - there's an update at the end of the month that will allow it to get up to 40 watts

Both are good quality. You hear of the occasional DOA on them but for the most part they're reliable.
A couple of small issues with each are:
The DNA's oled screens are attached with a thin ribbon cable. It makes positioning more flexible, but tends to break off easily.
The sx350, they go a bit crazy on potting, and sometimes cover the holes you need to solder switches to.

The only problem with the SX350 I have is the amount of black crap they've used to cover some of the components on the board.
Other than that, it's nicely made and the solder is solid.

It's nice that they've used the correct gauge wire and it's pre-soldered for the most part. Evolv could take a leaf out of Yihi's book in this respect.

The price needs to come down for both boards.

I have both the SX350 and the DNA30, The one thing I can't stand about the SX350 is it times out at 10 seconds, then I have to pump the button and the hit gets cold. The DNA30 will time out at 30 seconds! For me that's a deal killer!

I would think that with the sx350 being upgradeable, the time out timer xould probably be change with a little firmware hack. Dont know for sure though.
