No snow please. Closing today, I have a door and storm door to put in, and a 70' trench to dig to run a new power line to the large shed/bunkhouse (what was undoubtedly the original owners summer cabin, 50+ years ago). Present power to it is a mess, a single 12 gauge Romex through the air to a tree, then to the shed. Putting in a 40 amp subpanel, with disconnect, then I can bring my power tools in to start replacing the floor, adding new roof beams, etc. Have to put off re-coating the roof until next season, just tarp it for this winter.
Fortunately the main house is actually in quite decent condition. I'll check all the electrical, believe there are a few things that need rework but nothing difficult. Plumbing is the big upgrade I want to do, rework the pump/holding tank, put in a good filter system with UV and a couple reverse osmosis drinking water taps. I need good weather to hold out for me to extend the slab and build the little storage shed that'll hold the pump, pressure tank, and first stage filters, the UV filter will go in the master bedroom where the present pressure tank is.
It sure would have been easier if we closed a month earlier -- I want to get the gross electrical and plumbing done so we can move things in and enjoy the camp next season. Fortunately it's very close to home, easy access to stores, so I'll be able to work on it until the snow gets deep in Winter. DW will be stuck with the interior cleaning (lot of pets there over the years, even though we have our own furballs we want to get it clean before they go there.)
