So I went to a vape meet yesterday, which was AWESOME and I learned a TON - and now I'm looking at APVs and was hoping to get some feedback/opinions about what to get. I like the variable wattage feature on the Tesla that one person showed me, and I got an AGA-T rebuildable atomizer that I'm going to start practicing on once I get my APV. I'm using eGo-C Twists now.

What I want is a variable voltage and wattage device that will also show me the resistance of my rebuilt atomizer, and has short protection (because I'm doing the rebuildable thing).

I'm sort of deciding between the sigelei ZMAX, the Tesla, and the Vamo VV/VW! If you have used any of these (or all of them) I'd love to know how you feel about the display, the build "feel" and whether they do what I'm looking for well/better than the others. If you have another APV that ALSO does the things I'm looking for, I'd love to hear about it. I've been reading reviews on the forums - and I really DON'T like watching youtube reviews - and will keep doing so. Thanks in advance for your opinions. :)

I feel you... Videos don't really work for me, either.

I'm sure the Tesla's a great device, but my God is that thing ugly. And... ribbed. I think I'd be embarrassed to show it in public.

From the three you mentioned, after eliminating the vibrator Tesla, I'd personally go with the Vamo over the Zmax, at least based on the common pricing for both. I've found the Zmax to be built a bit better on average, but not better enough to justify the price difference.

The Sigelei ZMAX has a OLED display which is an improvement over the original ZMax. Other than that, their circuitry is identical. I suspect that the CVI Anyvape shares the same tech as well (Vamo too). So it really boils down to what looks good to you. I would suggest getting a stainless model if you choose the Vamo or either ZMax. The finish is a lot nicer to hold. For the $$$, the Vamo wins hands down. It's not the best looking of the bunch but gets the job done. If you shop around, you can get a screamin' deal on one for under $50 plus batteries & charger. Good luck....

I agree about going with Stainless and also would let you know that you can order skins for most of these if you want colors and designs.
The Stainless is durable but a bit slick on the Vamo. A skin lets you personalize it and improve the grip.

Between the Vamo, Sigelei, and SmokTech, the SmokTech is the smallest.

So I pulled the trigger and ordered a Seiglei ZMAX - I actually HAD a Vamo in my cart and ended up not getting it because I also needed a charger and batteries (and my favorite vendor was sold out of what I needed) - so I picked up the ZMAX set and am really excited. I've already forgotten which finish I got >.> <.< hope it gets here soon!

Samazon,
Now you have to suffer through a common vaper illness. You've already exhibited the first signs of the symptoms which is the "hope it gets here soon". This will likely manifest further with checking for shipping notices then looking for tracking numbers. The last symptom is the worst of them in a social sense as you will start stalking your mail person.

Unfortunately there isn't a cure for this illness but you will feel significant relief while you don't have anything on order. The problem is that the sensation of relief at each delivery will cause you to purchase more so you can get that fix again.

Sorry...

Luckily I get mail delivered to my office, so I'm distracted until mailtime... unfortunately, some days it's the only reason I can drag myself out of bed in the morning!

I've got kanthal wire coming now too. All I need now is a mesh source... and I'll... I'll be done ordering stuff on the internet... maybe...

Unless you use the Vamo in its mini mode. Personally, I have no particular allegiance to any of them. I have several mods in the collection including the Vamo, ZMax and the ProVari. They all work really well and I enjoy each and everyone of them. Had the Sigelei in Stainless been available when I got the ZMax, I would have chose it instead. I can't justify buying one just for the OLED screen at this point. However, I would consider the Anyvape due the fact that it has the eGo threading and will accept the Kangers. I'm just going to kick back and see what's going to happen next. There are so many new PV's that will be coming out in the near future and it's difficult (and expensive) to keep up with it all.

SerenityGear Leather makes custom cut leather sleeves for many popular mods. Since the different Z-maxes dome in different sizes, I would check with the vendor prior to ordering to make sure he has the proper template for your model. He does custom orders, so I'm certain he can fix you up with a great sleeve.
