Psalm 122 King James Version (KJV)
122 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.
2 Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem.
3 Jerusalem is builded as a city that is compact together:
4 Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord, unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the Lord.
5 For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David.
6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.
7 Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.
8 For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.
9 Because of the house of the Lord our God I will seek thy good.
I have heard repeatedly from different venues to pray for peace in Jerusalem. A couple of nights ago, I was watching The Harvest, and I heard them talk about praying for peace in Jerusalem as being Scriptural. So, for the first time this week, I had a few moments to look it up. Well, it's Scriptural and the above shows where in Scripture it's found. I went back for the entire chapter to find context. So, it is Scriptural to pray for Israel and peace in Jerusalem. Now we know there will be peace in Israel/Jerusalem when Jesus' 2nd Coming happens, since we've read the back of The Book. Righteousness will prevail! We back our Lord God!
Currently, Israel has taken a stance against Hamas in the Gaza Strip. They have drawn a line. It's about time, since Hamas has repeatedly shot a large number of missiles into Israel lately. Israel has had enough! I don't blame them and I support them. Egypt has tried brokering peace between them. Israel said okay, and Hamas walked away. It's going to be iffy, but at this moment, there has been a 5 hour cease fire for humanitarian purposes. Pray, brothers and sisters, pray.
