Christmas Gift for Pops

My Papa is turning 70 for Christmas. He's been smoking an unknown ridiculous amount of years. I just switched to vaping last week and I'm loving it. I'm thinking of buying a setup/liquid for him for his birthday/Christmas gift. I am using the iTaste vv 3 (with iclear 16's), and I think it is pretty easy to get the hang of. He needs simple, yet reliable. My Papa isn't very tech-savvy and I know for a fact he'd never be able to use this forum (nor would he want to). Do you think the iTaste vv 3 would be good for him to start with?

Also, any liquid recommendations? I am more of a "flavor" fan, and I know he wouldn't be, so I have no idea what to get him. He's been smoking Full Flavor Basics for many many years. I'm hoping for a smooth tobacco that doesn't have TOO much of a kick because I don't want him having a coughing fit (I plan on getting him 12mg). Any suggestions (either on the device or flavors)?

That's a really cool and thoughtful idea. I've converted some seniors and what I do is fill a bunch of cartos and/ or clearos up for them- enuff for 2-3 weeks. Also gives reason to visit them and now a bunch of us get together and some are actually doing it on their own.

Edit: I'm 61 in another month and I had slight problems with the bottom button on my Mech Mod- make sure the button is easy enuff to press.

That's great! I feel like the older you are (and have been smoking) the more difficult it must be to convert. I want him to live longer and he's already had bypass surgery and continues to smoke! I think (& hope) vaping will finally do the trick. The hardest part will be to find true quality tobacco flavors. That's a great idea though, I'll definitely fill the clearos for him. That will surely take a lot of frustration off his plate at first

Oh good call, that just made me rethink the iTaste 3. Those little buttons to scroll with will be too small for him. Hmm...

I don't, just my 2 iTaste vv 3's. I'll keep doing research, surely there is a simple setup without tiny buttons! Thanks for your replies!

I'm 72, and wrap my own coils and DiY my own e-liquid, so don't be to quick at selling us old geezers short. Most of the time all we need is to be shown how.
Many of us have the mindset that we can do it ourselves, and resist being fussed over & helped. So as simplistic as possible is the best way to get started. The fewer the things to adjust or fuss with the better.
"Small" is also difficult for many seniors. So pay attention to hand or vision problems. He might find vivi nova's/iTaste 30's easier than ce4's/iTaste 16's.

After my first eGo starter kit, my first real PV was a Silver Bullet, followed closely by a switch to carto tanks. Ease of use with old hands & eyes played a major role in those choices.

I have been considering the same thing for a couple of weeks now- I've been clear of cigs for just over a month now, and my Mother asked me to get her started for Christmas.

So hard to figure what she will end up liking/ tolerating as far as equiptment and flavors! So far I'm thinking of getting her some basic sticks and cartos, and maybe a larger battery and tank for her to use at home and play with- to decide if she wants to put the extra effort in.

Flavors -should- be a little easier. By that time I'll have so many myself I'll just have her try them all

as far as liquid, how about Indigo Oorah!? It's one of my favorite tobacco flavored liquids.
