Well, I am not too concerned right now with voltage because I have only every used an unmodded Joye 510, though I'm not entirely turned off by the idea of a HV PV. I am looking for an Around-the-House PV. A PV that can use when I am just sitting around on my computer or watching a movie or playing my PS3 without having to change my battery constantly and not tied down by a cord like with a PT. I want something interesting looking so when I have friends over they ask questions and are intrigued by the way it looks. I want something I can have to take on long trips in the car and on vacations.

I am looking to make my 510 my PV for errands or places I can't have a big PV and can easily conceal it. My grab and go PV.. So I don't want to be using it all the time if I am in a place where I can use something else.

Understand what I mean?

Ive used neither, and I've only used a 3.7v on top of that. But I recently ordered a 5v, and so far i've learned...

The protege is only 3.7, but the batts will last a while for u. So will the chuck, which can be 3.7 OR 6, so theyre both prolly about the same. at 6v ur batts will go quicker.

There is a huge difference between 3v and 6v. Many people have told me that 6v is too much. 5v is apparently the most popular.

Ive heard a lot of good things about the chuck, and not as much about the protege, but its still fairly popular as well.

Also i've seen a mod for a passthrough/ps3 controller combo. Hope this helps.

I don't have a chuck, but had the protege... I would venture to say just from word of mouth the chuck gets no complaints from their owners and the protege seems to have issues......plus like hecknaw said the chuck @ 3.7 will last heck alot longer than the protege.

I could go on to mention other great mods to own, but since you only gave two choices I felt this was the type of answer you wanted

I have neither, but from what you stated, I would go with the chuck. I have a silver bullet for my 3.7V (just ordered the PS V2 for 5V) and the battery (same as the chuck) is insane. I can go about 1 1/2 to 2 days without changing the battery, though you can feel it drop after probably 6-8 hours. The 6V option isnt that big of a deal. Tastes like crap in my opinion and trust me, ive tried to like it. Hoping that 5V is better.

The Protege looks good and I want one, but ive used mods with that battery before and I can only get about 6-8 hours out of it before its completely dead. The size of it looks quite nice though.

Just as an fyi, I vape alot. 4-5mls a day. If youre currently only doing 1-3, go with the protege.

I like my protege. It is sleek looking. It is small enough to fit in my hand and I can switch out to using a 510 or 901 or 801. I got the adapters for it. Works great and uses 14500 batteries.

But I do think my next purchase is going to be a chuck. I want to have one with a design on it. I don't know how much bigger it is than this protege tho.

Like I said, I've only used a 510. But if your looking to broaden your search, consider the screwdriver. That was the first big battery pv I looked into. Ive had good feedback on it. Its 3.7, but I dont think the batts last as long. it says 8 hrs, but Ive heard a day.

Puresmoker, the makers of the protege, jus came out with a new 5v mod called the Prodigy V2. No one has it yet (to my knowledge), but considering the makers, and how excited people are over on the Puresmoker threads, Its definitely worth your interests. Its 5v.

There should be a poll about favorite voltage levels.

I have both the Protege and Chucks... Duck is spot on. I also have both Chuck/Little Chuck models.

Chuck also has a 1 year no b.s. warranty. The battery for the Chuck comes in 3000 mAh which will run 2 days. The Little Chuck is smaller and will run about 7 hours. Either are great dependable units (and that it is customized with your design is awesome).

Thanks for all the input yall. I will look at the Silver bullet and the screwdriver. I have looked some at the screwdriver and I am not all that happy with the button placement. Although I have noticed when I vape my 510 my pinky finger is always finding its way to the LED tip so maybe it isn't such a big deal.

I REALLY like the idea of having my own design on the chuck, my home town football team logo would look great on it and I haven't seen it yet so that is a plus for me. I do, however, have a small dislike of the manual button... It just looks like it sticks out really far and I can see that might be an annoyance for me.

I have looked at the Prodigy though not enough to make an informed decision so I will have to look a little more.

I haven't looked AT ALL at the Silver bullet so I will have to check that out too.

Thanks again for all the feedback... this is great.

I don't have a Protege but I do have Chucks. I think people look at the button and imagine it is a problem. Once you have a Chuck, your only thought on the button is that it works every single time you press it and is in a very comfortable position. For me the fact that it hits every time without fail and without a lot of messing around doing in depth cleaning every couple days is the most important thing.
