This thread is for discussion of Technical issues and mods for the Chuck.

This is where we can post things like where to buy batts, our experiences on which batteries work best, etc.

We can also use this area to discuss things like which adapters to use, how to mod adapters, etc.

Things like carrying cases that work well for you, etc

Everyone...feel free to post any modifications or addition you have found to make chucking better or easier.

I will kick this thread off by posting my 5 atty system using a 510 chuck and two altsmoke adapters.

The 801 is easy, just get the 510-801 adapter.

There are two different methods to use the 901, KR808, and Greencig. The easiest...(if you don't have an adapter yet) get a 510-KR808 adapter, it will work on all three.
If you already have a 510-901 adapter, you can modify it by drilling a small hole through the outer and inner pieces. The hole needs to go all the way into the center post. Once you have the hole drilled, pop the center out and clean out all the shavings you created when drilling the hole. You will now be able to use your 901, KR808 cartomizers and greencig cartomizers on your 510 Chuck!

Here is a pic of the adapter drilled and taken apart...

Here is a pic of the groove mod you can use on the connector of a 901 Chuck to use it with KR808 and Greencig cartomizers...

...on this thread, High!
Based on that photo you posted in the "Saturday" thread (and above), I changed my order from a 901 connector to a 510 because of the adapability. Then DaMulta posted about the Altsmoke 510 cartomizer adapter, I got one of those. When I get home tonight, I'll post some photos of here.
And if I'm extremely lucky, my LC will be in the mailbox when I get home and I'll post pix of it with the adapter on it too!!!

I have a 901 Chuck. My plan of having the threads have a slit through them hasn't worked out as of YET, when I get a small enough dremmel bit I'll be making it a bit deeper. For now i have my pink 901 atty for when I feel like dripping and a 901 manual battery adapter from VaporKings which I put a slit through (I couldn't find my drill bit to make a hole) for my cartomizers:

Yes, that reminds me... I should mention that the hole I drilled in the 901 adapter is 1/16". It is a little too big, but the smallest bit I had on hand. (actually through hand at one point, I should have got a pic of that bit through my finger, but at the time I wasn't thinking 'get a camera'. I was thinking, "get it out! get it out!")

I think 1/32" would be perfect. It just depends on how much drag resistance you like.

If you have a 901 Chuck and decide to use my groove mod on the connector, I recommend you use GC's method of taking a little out at a time and testing until you get it right.

OK..one on the right, too deep. It works but there's way too much airflow. One on the left, perfect airflow.

The Chuck itself, too shallow, no airflow. When I get a smaller dremmel bit I'll be slowly making it deeper until I can put the cartomizer on with no adapter.

Oh and sorry the pics aren't too bright, my cam battery is almost dead :p

Chuckdragon.... check to see if they have the KR808 adapter. It will work on your 901's. It will also work on KR808 and Greencig Cartomizers.

GC.. I think one of the problems with the groove in the chuck is that the slot on the center post doesn't line up with the outer slot. Also, it doesn't look like it goes all the way to the edge. The center post turns when the cap is screwed on. You should be able to rotate your center post a little before you start making it deeper.

Has anyone tried these on a little chuck??

I'm pretty sure they will work since they are only 10mm longer than the 16340's (and 1200mAh!!), but haven't gotten mine in the mail yet. I would like to add them to the list on the 'Chuck battery' thread, but want to be sure they work before I do.

Aren't those unprotected?

And going by the numbers, wouldn't they only be 1mm longer than the 16340?

Thanks Angus, I did not notice that they were unprotected, but they are.
I will definitely not put any non-PCB batts on the battery thread.

Thanks again, that's why I posted them here first :)

BTW: yes 1mm longer. Now I know they will fit.

I'd say put them on the list, but make sure to let folks know they are unprotected, just like the CR2s.
