I haven't been on this forum for a long long time. I'm clueless about the new stuff and I could use some help.

I'm running out of e-cig parts, so it's time to think about what to get.

I started out several years ago with 501 penstyles and 4081 minis.
Later I was gifted with a huge collection of Smoke Stik batteries and cartos, and I was able to vape for over a year without buying any replacement parts. I don't care for the smoke stik flavors, so I clean out their cartos and fill them with e-liquid.
I also bought a couple of Trio fiftyones at a convenience store--surprisingly good for a cheapo , but I can't find them anymore. (I took them with me on flights so I didn't risk losing my favorites)
-The penstyle hit nicely, but I didn't like the feel of it-- the mouthpiece felt weird to me.
-I liked the feel of the 4081 mini, and the hit is okay but not great--I poked a hole in the cartridges, and it was ALMOST right with that little adaptation. Although I had to refill often, it was simple and I didn't mind doing it.
-I like the way the smokestik hits, but cleaning and filling the cartos is fiddly.
-I don't need tons of vapor. If I could buy blank smokestik cartos, I'd probably stay with the smokestik, but the annoyance factor of having to wash out the flavors I don't like has become a dealbreaker. I don't know of any blank cartos that fit them. Even though they are a 4081 (I think), the threads seem different.
-I don't mind exploring clearos, but I know next to nothing about what I'd need to get set up for them-wicks, coils, batteries, etc.

So that's my story. What would you recommend for my next set-up? And would you please share where to buy the products you recommend? Thanks.

We all seem to recommend what we use and like, and I am no exception, so here goes. I bought this Evod starter kit by Kanger when I started vaping and it works very well. It comes with everything you need except the juice, 2 ego style batteries, 2 Evod toppers/tanks, and a charger. This is a reliable vendor and the shipping is free. If you use the code ECF at checkout, you get 10% off, which makes it about $30.

You can use these ego style batteries with a lot of tanks, but I really like the Evod clearomizers that come with it. They work well for me, they are inexpensive, and the replaceable coils don't cost too much.

PS Congrats on your success in vaping up to now! And welcome back to the forum.

I have no doubt others will have lots of suggestions for you as to gear.:)

Most people like myself went from cig-a-likes to an Ego set. If you are willing to go that route I would strongly recommend a Kanger Evod kit. They are very good quality, easy to clean and fill, inexpensive and very few leaks or problems.

I got mine at here: Kanger Evod Starter Kit $35
Vapedojo has pretty much the best price around and their juice is pretty good too.

If you have a little more money to spend then they sell: Kanger Mini Protank 2 Starter Kit -VV for $60. (However they are sold out at the moment :( ) If I had to do it all over again I would buy this kit. Evod twists with Mini Protank 2's are an excellent setup and gives you an easy way to customize your vape!

I second the EVOD kit if you are looking for simple. They also now have EVOD 2s with double coils and removable drip tips. My favorite batteries at this point are itaste 3.0, which is nice because it has variable voltage and variable wattage. If you see a clearo you are interested in trying, its usually pretty easy to figure out what coils to order (either on the website or asking here!)

Thank you. I found the starter kit in stock at quality vapor dot com. They have spare clearos and coils in stock, too.

I'm thinking of getting the mini protank 2 starter kit with the upgrade to 650mAh eVod Twist Variable Voltage Batteries, a couple of extra clearos (Kanger Mini Protank 2 V2 w/Removable Drip Tip), and an extra 5-pack of coils, but I'm not sure what to pick for extra coils-- 1.5ohm, 1.8, 2.2, or 2.5.

If you looking to Keep a Small Form Factor, I would suggest a 650mAh Vision Spinner or eGo Twist. Both are Variable Voltage. And both are relatively Small.

An iTaste vv 3.0 would be a Good Choice Also.

BTW - I started out with a DSE103 and then shortly afterward went to a RN4081. I loved the Size of a RN4081. Just Hated refilling Carts Constantly and Always having to have a Battery charging.

I started out with cigalikes and quickly moved up to the ego style batteries. If I knew then what I know now, I would have gone straight for the MVP2. I love mine. I am sure you can see the improvements in vaping. Heck it changes daily almost but there is lost out there. Lots of places to save money too. I am a huge fan of Fasttech. They have wonderful prices on everything for me. Good luck to you and welcome to ecf. It's nice to find a place where everyone is in your corner, if you know what I mean. :)

You will be very happy with this set, i can asure you.
For coils i personally use 1.8ohms but for started i think it's better for you to go 2.2 ohm. Since you're getting a twist / vision battery you can adjust the volts on it, so the ohm doesn't realy matter that much :)

You're getting good advice, and on the right track!
A variable voltage ego and that MiniProtank - or even a full ProTank2 is a great step up from those sticks you had.
You'll get more vapor and more flavor and more vape time - like all day...
Still, you'll want TWO batteries (vape one while the other charges)
Then you can begin really exploring the "Wide World of Juice".

Thanks for the ohm advice, and I agree about multiple batteries. The starter kit comes with two, and I still have some sticks. If I like the evod, I'll buy more batteries for it, after I try it out.

I'm having fun dripping today, after an order of 12 sample sizes from Heather's Heavenly Vapes came in the mail. Prowling the forums again made me aware of the supplier. Nice juice.
