Cigarette Crave

If any of you read my thread saying I can't understand how people want cigarettes after having vapour.

I get it now. Everyone in my house has quit smoking before me, so since taking up vaping I have had no contact with smoke. Today, my brother has been smoking. As soon as I got a wiff of it my nerves started tingling and I got a massive craving. Strange as always, I thought it smelt rancid but I wanted one none the less. vaping after that is less satisfying.

Think the biggest thing is to stay away from smokers for me. 75% of my friends are smokers so this is going to be hard.
Damn brother, he has been a health freak for 2 years now. he gos to the gym every day and weighs 15 stone of muscle. Every time he gos to the pub or a club, which is like once every 3 months, he smokes fags while nursing the hangover.

Nightmare really, he has been giving everyone in the house greif for the smell of fags etc for 2 years, now he's making it hard for us. Damn hypocrit. lol cant spell hypocrit(sic)

Starting week 4 here and it does get easier. But I still get a craving out of nowhere and for no real reason I can find. But I decided that I was ready to quit and will not let myself go back. If you find yourself needing one find something else to do for a bit. That helps and keep the vape stuff near by. There is always someone here to answer a question or help someone else with less experience if you can.

be strong! and perhaps pass him a spare PV and tank..

I was at a family function yesterday and some are smokers. it was gross. I missed being outside with everyone puffing along- I went out with my PV but couldn't take the smell. I couldn't be near them when they came inside.

I apologized to my kids while we were driving home, and to my boyfriend when he got home from work- I didn't realize how BAD I reeked all the time.

If you've already found your vaping setup thats been keeping you smoke free then I say go ahead have a smoke and see what happens. I went thru that phase just one time...took a pull off of one and I found it so disgusting, even nauseating. These days I dodge second hand smoke like the matrix, cant stand it.

Not to worry. You THINK you want a cigarette. But take just one hit and ewwwwwwwwwww. Tastes horrible. At least that's how it's been for me. I have tried a couple cigs in the past two years because I thought I wanted them and then found out I don't and would rather vape. :)

ME TOO!! :D

My transition to vapor was ideal. I just decided anytime I got a craving I would take a vape or three FIRST. Gradually I smoked less and less but still allowed myself to smoke anytime I wanted. In 2 months I have lit 9 cigs and finished none.
Yesterday I lit one after sort of thinking about it for several days.. I got 3 puffs in before literally laughing out loud at how disgusting it was.

Maky stay strong, you can defeat tobacco.. but if you falter don't be surprised if you find the taste positively repulsive now that you can actually taste it :)

I know what you mean. Vaping is working for the most part but I had to be around smokers yesterday and wound up bumming 2, the 2nd just to be sure. Despite the fact that the it tasted pretty bad, I still wanted that second one. I cheated, but it's only been a week. I am not going to beat myself up over it, just trying to keep on track. I hope it will be come less and less of an enticement as time goes on.

I had cravings the first week or so around smokers, but it went away quick (didn't have a choice, tons of people at work smoke so I'm very exposed.)

My mother switched to vaping a few weeks ago and she never got the crave from seeing/smelling other people smoking, but when we went to our local walgreens, seeing packs behind the register made her want to buy one really badly. I guess it's just from habit of buying a pack every time.

LOL i'm suprised at the comment telling me to try one.

My GF and I switched to vapor at the same time. She put a lot more pressure on herself than I did. She was feeling really stressed one day and finally admitted she was struggling with her craving to smoke a cig. When I suggested she stop beating herself up and just smoke one, and that she's almost definitely gonna hate it anyways, she looked at me like I had 3 heads and was using 2 of them to tell her that YES her .... does look big in those shorts :p

She did smoke one and told me shortly thereafter what a relief it was that she truly did not enjoy it, at all.

I am not necessarily suggesting you smoke, just sharing my own experiences :)

I have not tried RY4 but I've also read very good things about it. For a tobacco flavor I like Our 4 by High Caliber, but I find myself with a nice tank of Cinn-A-Bun, also from High Caliber, in my hand more often than anything else :)
