before i get my hands on $ for a 510 kit, i'm stuck on analogs...i always noticed those little plastic filters u can buy to stick on cigarette filters, but never bothered until recently...its not much, but its better than nothing hehe...they supposedly reduce tar (and nicotine?) while maintaining most of the flavor...i don't want these filters making me buy more packs of my usual regulars just to get the same nic fix

-do they all reduce/filter out the nicotine as well as the tar? some claim to do both, some only mention the tar...the ones i have right now only mention the tar so i hope i'm not losing too much nicotine...

There are different types--dry and wet. I'm guessing the wet ones absorb more than the dry ones.

Aquafilter Cigarette Filter

Didn't care too much for the wet ones since they make your 2nd, 3rd and so on cig tastes like ....! 8-o
hmmm, i never seen wet ones before...i'll see if i can find those around...otherwise i got the dry ones until i go digital...these add-on filters probably aren't very effective, but seeing how much stuff comes out of 1 cig in those, its good as a reminder at the least hehe...:p

edit: oh, i was hoping to see if there were any that only reduce tar...but i'll try some if i see em around...

I tried these cigarette filters, and didn't like them because they made 2nd, 3rd, etc. cigs taste like sh_, as mentioned above. I was having a bit of trouble letting go of analog cigs once I started vaping, so I purchased the "One Step at a Time," nicotine withdrawl kit online - this kit has 4 different washable tip filters in it. The first filters reduce 10% tar and nicotine, the second a larger percent, and so on. I used the 70% reduction filter on the few remaining analogs I was having each day. It really didn't make them taste bad, I think it just took the nicotine pleasure away from them. My big quit analog breakthrough came when I started trying the flavored nicotine juices. The real cigs.and the tobacco flavored juices became disgusting almost immediately, and now I avoid them like the plague!

I used the filters. They were reusable so, yes, they had to be cleaned. The end that went on the cig filter was metal and the cap was plastic.
First, you'll be surprised at what these things collect.
Anyway, if what you're getting is like this, at the end of the day, take off the cap and put it in 409 or something like that. Then wipe all the junk you can off the metal part. I recommend putting the paper towel in a baggie because it will stink.
Then put on another cap (you'll get three), fill your mouth with water, and blow the water through it--about half. Remove cap, wipe down again, and then use the rest of the water in your mouth, wipe again.
I called this my nightly lung exercises. You can reuse the cleaning cap for more cleaning until you decide to clean.
If you don't do this, they will get clogged and will eventually stop working.
Put on a fresh cap and you’re set for the next day.
I had several of these so I could go about a week before running out of the caps. I'd have to remember to cycle the metal part though. When I got done using one, I'd throw it in the 409 too. When I was close to running out of the plastic caps, I'd use a pipe cleaner to get the inside good.
Then I put all parts in a little net bag, and run both parts through the dishwasher.

I smoked heavy enough sometimes during the day, I actually had to remove the cap and wipe the junk out. Watch this because when they get full, you’ll get a bit in your mouth and talk about something that tasted nasty.
