Hey DonDaBoom, I'd be interested in your views on putting a 901 LR atty on the elegant. Do you think it would work well?
Sure! I don't have any LR 901 attys, but it works with LR 510 and LR 801 (with adapters of course). In fact, I especially like the LR attys on the Elegant. For me, they hit too hard on a true 3.7V mod.

Hi All,

I've been using the Elegant Easy from CigEasy continuously for about a month now and it's become my "Gold Standard."

I started out with Frank's KR808D-1 batteries and cartomizers and didn't think vaping could get any better. But a fresh Gold Label Deluxe cart on the Elegant Easy is an amazing experience. The battery lasts forever and the cloud of vapor obscures my monitor. And the flavor just blows me away.

I've sent all my "on the fence about vaping" friends DonDaBoomVape's The Wonderful World of Vaping so they can educate themselves on what they're in for.

What A Resource!

143 days without a cigarette ... More Flavor. Less Death,

Bob

Where a 3.7V battery would be the winner...we simply dont have that option in this form factor...

so now it comes down to a 3.1V battery nearly identical in form...so it's going to be a step down for the KR8 users either way..
so it's the pros and cons of each....

overall what I'm saying is that by not keeping it at 3.7V the manufacturer crippled what the elegant could have been..
in it's current form it really is just an eGo with less options and versatility

but it's your review....I was just answering your question how you didn't understand how anyone could say they hated it....I was saying that it's not that I hate it...just that I find it pointless in it's current incarnation...now if they did a version 2 and took it back to the true 3.7V of other native KR8 devices...I'd trade the eGo in for one in no time

To answer a bunch of questions we had, I tested an Elegant battery tonight. Fully charged output voltage is 3.7 Volts exactly, thanks to my trusty multimeter.

update on my 2nd Elegant battery read 4.04 Volts at full charge. maybe it was left on the charger longer than the first one. The green light indicator on the charger may not be incredibly accurate and go on earlier than it should for a full charge. Anywho, That's my fifty cent worth.

A bit confused here. Are there two versions of the Elegant that give differing voltages? (v1 - v2) Or just different results sometimes?

And does this mean the Elegant has higher voltage than the Ego ? The difference between the two would then be that Elegant has higher voltage and threaded for KR8 cartos as opposed to Ego has less voltage and 510 carto threading?

I missed this in the Cigeasy subforum. Looks like it addresses my questions above.

They may look the same but the voltages on the Riva battery don't match up with what folks got on the Elegant.

In this thread (http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/joye-510/65055-battery-voltages-surprise.html), the eGo/Riva tests at 3.07.

In one of the Elegant review threads, the Elegant tested out between 3.7 and 4.0. Check on page 3 of http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...1915-cigeasy-s-kr8-elegant-ego-rest-us-3.html

Were I to take a guess at what the Elegant actually is, it appears to be a V-Go. You may want to check out this thread: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/general-e-smoking-discussion/105488-v-go.html#post1588118

From there, you can link to the China site selling V-Gos. You'll notice that they list the voltage at 3.7-4.2 which is closer in line with the tests performed by forum members.

the key is whether the battery was tested under load or not...
you can put the DMM on the battery and hit the button and it'll come up at 3.7V -4.2V sure....eGos/rivas/etc do that too.... now when you put a appropriate load on it that mimics the resistance of an atty or carto....it drops to 3.1 ish V.... and most people don't have a rig to test like that... notice that the people testing the batteries and getting the higher test results rarely state that it's tested under load....
I'm really willing to bet that all of them in this form factor when tested correctly under load would test in the same 3.1V ish range... the eGo/tornado/riva/t-rex/hello...the elegant and the v-go...

in addition this recent statement by Don leaves me to believe that's true...

if the elegant were truely 3.7V it would hit just as hard as many 3.7V mods...

Ah. I see what you're saying. I was just wading through the huge thread by Scottbee in which he states he tests under load. Don't think I saw the elegant tested there, but that would make sense. At least every pic I see leads me to believe that the KR8 fatties and 510 fatties are all the same battery just with different threading. At least they look that way.

Was this test under load?

EDIT: I guess he wouldn't test it since the thread was under Joye510 eh? Doh.

I've got an Elegant and have a few questions. I want to try dripping I am just wondering what would be a good way to go about it with the Elegant. I know it works with 901 atomizers so would I get a 901 LR atomizer like show here: SLB LR 901 Atomizer
and then get a drip tip like show here?? 510/901 Stainless Steel Drip Tip

I'm a newb to dripping and trying to figure it out. I don't want to order the wrong stuff etc...so any help would be great!!

That's what I did. Got a 901 atty and finally added in some drip tips. I mostly just use it for testing flavors when I don't want to fill a carto though.

As for the others quoting me, I agree with Drozd and was making that statement based on the information presented in previous threads. If the Elegant wasn't tested under load, then we honestly don't know what the voltage is. Personally, I think this is just as similar to the Riva 901 and the VGo is another knock-off of the EGo.

Maybe I'll send Drozd a battery and a carto and let him test it out.

I purchased this kit last night, before reading your review, because my original V4L batteries are drawing very hard...unlike their generic KR808D-1??? and the one I received from vaping101.com. The V4L batts are like sucking thru a straw with your finger at the other end... so when I read some other reviews on the Elegant I decided to give it a try...Vapor is not as important as flavor and TH for me and I do love the blank carts from V4L as well as their flavors and several others. So thanks for your review and for confirming the reasons for my purchase... Yours was a great review!

Thanks, Phyllis!

We South Floridian vapers have got to have a get together. Unfortunately, none of us (thus far) has had the gumption to organize it. [I'd love to attend, but don't have what it takes to make it happen. CyberWolf has talked about it, but he and I have been pretty busy preparing our new website.] Any volunteers?

Phyllis,

Started to reply to your post yesterday morning but got pulled away from the computer and didn't get back here till now.

I bought the Elegant Easy back in June and am thrilled with it.

It is inconspicuous and a low profile PV that I take everywhere with me along with some varied flavored cartos, and I'm good.

The draw is smooth yet with good throat hit and affords good flavor and I did read that you're not as interested in vapor, but it provides that also.

Even though I'm not a regular poster, I sure am a regular reader of just about everything I have time for. I vaped for the first time on 8 April 09, and haven't had an analog yet.
I feel so blessed!

Don, you have been invaluable to me as a reviewer, and I'm not sure if there is even one post of yours I haven't read.
THANK YOU!
I so wish there would be a meet-up a bit north, say Daytona cause South Florida is more than a bit of a ride since I live in Palm Coast. I would so love to meet you!

Gracie, you started vaping on my b'day - wtg!! I've been analog free since Aug 16 of this year... and e-cigs have become a new hobby for me...The Elegant tracking from CigEasy says it's out for delivery - and wouldn't you know it, mailman is later today...grrr...can't wait to get it and try it...

*********************************************************************

Don, I'm not the organizing type LOL, but I'll be there with bells on if anyone does set it up... Thanks again for the reviews, and looking forward to checking your new website...

The Elegant is here!!! Love the packaging! It's heavier than I thought it would be. Screwing on the cone is a little tough - Instructions say it is meant to fit snug (understatement :) IMHO) This is my first manual, so it's a little foreign to me... I have a V4L Wowboy 11mg in it now and it does give off lots of vapor...and more TH...nice addition to my collection and yes, it is very pretty and would look better with gold or brown carts... :) just put in a fresh Wowboy 11 and there is a strange taste that I don't get on my v4l batts...hmmm. on the fence with this puppy...we'll see

Hi PhyllisJ - I'm also an Elegant user - it charges much more quickly, about half the time, than a standard V4L or any KR808D-1 battery. Mine is ready to go again within less than 2 hours. I cannot answer your light question with authority - I'm just a regular vaper - but if your light on the USB has changed from Red to Green - You should be good to go.

Don, I too think I've read every post you've made. Great blog! Meeting you would indeed be a highlight! I've been vaping since April 1st and haven't looked back.

Flowersoul - your name fits you - glad to meet you!

I'm in Polk County - as close to Orlando as to Tampa - Suncoast Vapers is having a meet-up on Saturday, Oct 9th, in Tampa - if you're up this way ......
