I'm noticing this as well. Not the burnt taste, but lots of dark residue about the atomizer.
This applies to the VG only formulas, so I'm wondering if it's a common think with juices consisting solely of VG without the PG. Tanks in themselves have been known to produce this, so it may not be the juice itself responsible for the burnt taste, just what it's doing on that particular model you have.

I just wanted to clarify that the cignot juice have isnt BLACK dark..... its amber so YMMV

There are two versions of the atomizer - v1 and v2 - v2 made the tube more angular at the upper end for better wicking. I believe CigNot is shipping with v2 right now.

Pushing the wick down is super simple. If you look down the atty from the cart side you'll see the needle that pierces the tank. The wick is inside of that. Use a paperclip to push it down a teeny weeny bit. The top of the wick hat should be even with the top of the tube its sitting in.

Heres a video that Vicki from CigNot made to help you understand:
YouTube - eGo-t wick adjustment

I feel pretty confident this will solve your issue, as I was in the same boat out of the box :)
