My daughter was 6 weeks pregnant, a hard core smoker. She quite and two days later had a miscarriage. After much reading up on the matter many had reported having miscarriages by going cold turkey with smoking. She was even advised to stop slowly but wasn't told why. It's odd that the two days she went cold turkey the following day she started showing signs of spotting. They sent her to the ER where they did a ultrasound. It showed she was 6 weeks along but no heart beat. Needless to say once again i am bitter towards smoking. Why did they tell her to stop slowly?? what do doctor's know that we don't and why they advised her to stop slowly?? i am just so damn mad but i know there is no way of knowing but soo many in forums had reported it

Doctors know what it says in their books and they believe that wearing a white coat gives them the right to charge you $300 just to tell you "well your knees hurt because you're getting older".
I could have told myself that in the mirror and bought a lot more vape gear.

Sent from tomorrow

thanks you for all of your responses it's just odd when reading up on this that several woman reported that after they went cold turkey from cigs that had a miscarriage. This was her second pregnancy that went wrong and both times it happened when she quit cold turkey. I didn't smoke a cig, instead i just grew more angry, i didn't give in. Big tobacco will not control my life damn it. I just wish my daughter would listen to me and vape until she is off the cigs the next time instead of fighting to quit the cancer sticks. I don't know if quiting cold turkey caused it no way to tell, but it's just odd i am reading this as problem other woman have expressed from their experience.

Very sorry for your loss.

I believe the Dr's said stop slowly due to the stress of quiting. I don't think that is bad advice.
Perhaps she should quit before she becomes pregnant again.
It is also possible that the miscarriage had nothing to do with her quiting. Could have happened anyways.

Good thoughts to you all .
