Cindy Lanning bombshell - NJOY is trying to get HC market authorization

I don't know if this should belong in the legislation forum category, but I'll post it here for now.

So I was watching the vape Team on Wednesday, and they had Cindy Lanning on talking about the recent NS Lung Association meeting/presentation on ecigs.

She mentioned that njoy is actively seeking to get Health Canada market authorization as a medical device.

I don't have a source, but let the speculation begin.

Not sure how they will do this. I know the US Courts do not affect Canada however the US Courts have told the FDA that they can not market E-Cigs as a medical device.

Simple. Grease HC with more money than Big Pharma and Big Tobacco are doing. So in effect....Ain't gonna happen.

Considering the source, the rumor sounds just .... stupid. Grind their sales to a screeching halt in the process of trying to get their e-cigs approved as a medical device or drug? How many years might that take, assuming it ever happens? They can't have it both ways once they start the process and keep selling them as "this" until they are approved to be sold as "that." I really don't see that happening. It makes no sense whatsoever.

Nothing shocking here as the Blu CEO had stated, when they were bought out, they had already been in talks with the FDA. Market Authorization....I've followed many Bio companies and the time and $$ involved is no simple task.
