I stopped in at a vape shop to get some liquid while I wait on my shipment to get here. My wife has never vaped and I made the remark that some of the samples we had were really weak. The guy behind the counter said that since I'm vaping a cinnamon liquid that everything else would seem very weak and that it messes up your palate. Is this true? I had a a suspicion that once they mixed nicotine into it the flavor would come out better and was right but still curious about his comment.

Cinnamon, menthol, and mint are some of the strongest flavors, with Cinnamon probably the strongest. These are usually recommended for those suffering from Vaper's Tongue, when you can't taste any of your usual flavors. Cinnamon can over-saturate your tongue's flavor palatte.

Cinnamon is also one of those potential tank crackers. Something Safe for Cinnamon & Citrus Flavors

Which kind of cinnamon? Spice cinnamon is ok. Cinnamon red hots is a serious tank-cracker, gives me nasty headaches, and I refuse to vape it. I would think that too much of it would damage the sense of smell, won't ever use the stuff again.

Think about it-- if it damages tanks so regularly, what does it do to human flesh, particularly the delicate linings of the nose, sinuses, mouth, throat, and bronchial tubes?

This is an ignorant statement. Some Cinnamon & citrus flavors merely have a chemical reaction to a specific type of plastic - polycarbonate. That doesn't mean it does the same thing to human tissue. Hot sauce would irritate the linings of the nose and sinuses too but many people consume it and enjoy it without harmful effects. Coke can dissolve the crud off of a battery terminal, but it doesn't do the same thing to our stomachs.

i agree this is the knee jerk reaction to the concept of tank crackers

but....

our lungs/mouth/nose/sinuses/throat/bronchials are NOT made of polycarbonate plastic

Oh, Baditude, what you said about the Coke reminded me of when I was a teenager, long ago, and had to live for a while with my strict grandparents. My grandpa told my sister and me that cokes would destroy the linings of our stomachs, and wouldn't let us drink them. We both had a hard time with his old-timey ideas while we were living there. We felt like we'd been sent to another planet to live.:)

That's where my "ignorance" statement came from. Your grandfather probably used the home remedy of pouring Coke on his battery terminals and figured it would do the same to people's stomachs. There are millions of people drinking Coca Cola and other soft drinks by the Big Gulp size and no one has yet had their stomach melt or crack.

:p
