Cisco vs Joye LR 306 (brand name vs generic)

So 2 weeks ago I decided it was time for an upgrade from my volcano magma starter kit, which got me off cigs and had served me faithfully for the past 5 months. I settled upon a 2xAA box mod from Madvapes and a couple of Joye LR 306s from Vaporflow, figuring this combo would hold me over until I can get my hands on a REAL mod at vapefest. I was blown away at first by the performance of the Joye branded 306s. Plumes of delicious tasting vapor would literally fill the room and look like a dense fog. Awesome, right? Well, it was a short lived honeymoon with this new equipment. After about a week, there was a SIGNIFICANT drop in performance. It was constantly clogging, leaking, and tasting horrible. That 'whooshing' sound that meant I was about to get a big hit was gone. I thought I must have gotten a dud, so I popped on the 2nd one, and by the end of the night was experiencing the exact same issues. I was very frustrated, and couldn't determine if it was the atty, the batteries, or something else causing the problems. So after a few days of nic fitting, one of my buddies received a pair of Cisco LR 306s from Avidvaper. He lent me his spare and WOW!!!!! The performance of the brand name 306 is FAR, FAR superior to the generic. It's not even a comparison, really. Hopefully this will get the word out regarding the differences between brand name and generic LR 306s. I don't want anyone else wasting their money. Just LOOK at them - it's quite obvious that both the design and materials used are not the same. I won't be ordering another LR 306 that doesn't have 'Cisco' written on its threading.

Is Avidvaper the only co. selling the 306LR Cisco spec atty. It looks like Volcano might also carry the genuine Cisco 306LR here Volcano Fine Electronic Cigarette Atomizer but was wondering if anyone could confirm this.

Btw, thanks for the side by side and review. I use the Joye 306LR's exclusively but want to try the Cisco spec side by se=ide also.

I've never tried the Joye 306's, but I'll chime in here to say that I haven't killed a Cisco 306 yet. I bought two of them a while back, and although pricey, they just won't friggin' die. No drop in performance either. Cisco 306's = WIN.

I have heard that avidvaper is the exclusive spot for them now, and anyone else is just selling off old stock.

Sadly, I have killed several (2.0 LRs on a Riva). The first may have been because I didn't break it in properly but I have three more that I did break in properly that all died, or became so ineffective that they might as well be dead, in under two weeks, one in about a day.

I'm going to keep buying them though. They are awesome while they work.

I have also had terrible performance issues with so called 306 attys. Bought them in person from a guy in Berkeley and some of them were real stinkers. almost turned me off to vaping i had so many problems. I'm really enjoying my new tank but i will no doubt want to get back to dripping for pure recreation (too complicated and socially or physically awkward at work or on the road) but nothing like mixing and matching on a fresh working atomizer...alas i have had far too few but will add the cisco name to the few brands people have found to be decently reliable. i'd go back and look for all my burnt up 306s and check the label and the make but of course i trashed them long ago--thought it was the 306 itself--although i do vaguely recall a heavenly start when i got my first couple which i thought in retrospect i had imagined.
thanks for the careful analysis. photo especially helpful
