Hi Terrie,
Go to the bottom right of this page to FORUM JUMP. Scroll down to Joye 510
and you can learn all you need to know about cleaning an Atty.
Is it a new Atty? Did you blow it out before its 1st use? Have you changed Juices using the same Atty? I'm a newbie myself, but I'm sure these questions will need to be answered in order to help you.

It could be that the atty is starved for liquid. This will lead to a harsh almost burned taste. Try dripping a few drops of juice directly onto the bridge, then, making sure the cart is full, put on the cart. If the filler is pushed back into the cart too far it will not wick to the bridge and cause the harsh taste. The atty should hiss and sizzle while vaping. If it is not, its either not getting juice, or it is clogged and not allowing enough air through. If it requires hard pulling, it is clogged. Remove it and blow it out through the batt end into a paper towel. If this doesn't clear it, a how water ringe with blowing will hel;p clear out the gunk, then let it dry for a day before using...and remember to drip a few drops onto the bridge when you use it again. Good luck and let us know if this worked out for you!

Please help! My 510 tastes terrible, like chemicals. I dont know how to clean my atty or know for sure even if this is the problem. I appreciate any input you guys can give me. Thanks.

If it is a new atty.. you will have to break that atty in. They all have a metallic taste when they are brand new and that usually goes away after the first few sessions of vaping. The best thing to do is make sure you have a fresh/full cart and pre-charge the atty with a couple drops of juice or straight PG/VG on the atty bridge(the coil inside the atty). After a session or two of doing this, you should have an atty that is well broken in and that taste will have dissipated.

my $0.02 worth, take it for what it is worth.

I had my first 510 atty go bad. Not sure what happened to it as it works fine (in that it burns) but the taste was awful. I cleaned it two or three times in everything from everclear to the mouthwash, blew it out and for some reason it just kept tasteing burnt and awful. I threw it away. That one is the only atty I have lost since I started e-smoking.
