I ordered some Volt x2 cartomizers. I haven't received them yet. I hear people on these forums that they switch off flavors throughout the day. Which is what I want to do. Are you guys buying these cartomizers for 6.95 ish to test out different flavors? I'm asking cause if you buy a few different flavors to try them out and you have carts that you cannot clean, are you paying 6.95 to try out a flavor? That seems expensive. The Volt x2 carts that I ordered says they last for 2-3 weeks only. What are cheap carts that I can try to test samples of flavors? What am I missing here?

I haven't used those clearos, but I'd clean them and use them until the coil stopped working on them.
You could buy the blank carto for the volt, they seem to be ~$8 for a 5 pack, and fill those with a liquid that you want to try.

I didn't like the idea of buying things to throw away and that's why I progressed to rebuildables fairly quickly.

I use a 510 version of these. I have a whole bunch each with a different flavor. I don't clean them, I just keep filing them up until they die - then I throw them away.

Not to derail the thread, but these are sooo easy to clean...wiggle the tube off, take off the long silver post, you'll see the coil. 3 second pulses until the coil glows. Then reassemble. I get months and months out of these, I think they're amazing. Plus I use all my "cracker" juices in them with no problems.

Use atomizers to try out a flavor. If you hate it, no big deal. If you like it, stick it in a clearo. I don't know if the X2 clearos come with replaceable heads or not, but if they do, they're worth the investment. You can just replace the head for about $3 instead of the whole clearo.

What's the difference between atomizers and clearomizers? I did a search and they both look the same.

I have cleaned my V2 Liquimax clearos more time than I can cound and they still work fine even after 5 weeks of steady use. I have also just cleaned my X2 and e-smarts. Same results. I have onlt had one e-smart go bad and that was after the second fill of juice. It was giving off a burning, almost melting plastic taste after a few puffs. Tried cleaning and got the same results. Second one I have used no problems yet.

The way I see it:

Atomizer: Heating element

Clearomizer: Heating element+tank for juice+fiber wick for juice delivery to heating element.

Cartomizer: Heating element+polyfill sponge that holds juice.

Carto tank: Same thing but with a tank that holds more juice and feeds juice to sponge.

The only difference between carto and clearo is the method of delivering juice. Fiber wick vs Polyfill.

I think the atomizer by itself can get juice from dripping, polyfill cartridges "carts", or little plastic tank ala Ego-T types.

So much terminology overlaps it's confusing. I'm a noob myself, so any non-noobs please correct me if I got anything wrong.

I like the e-smarts cause they hold a little more than the V2 Liquimax and have different colors. I was reading on Vapor Kings site and they say.... "These also fit KR808D-1 batteries but are slightly larger in diameter." Are they still a good fit? Do they look weird?

EDIT: How do they fit on the 65 and 78mm and Spinners?

I use them on my 78mm and they are just a tad wider in diameter. Don't look that out of place at all.

Couple of things: These are 1.6ml clearomizers not cartomizers with non-replaceable coils. For the price, not a good deal as you can find 1.6ml coil replaceable clearomizers which when the coil dies, for around $2.00 you just screw in a new one.

When they say approximately 2 weeks, they mean if you are vaping almost exclusively with it.

Cleaning clearomizers is easy-peasy. I just run mine under the faucet, warm water, gently, letting the water flow through several times (coil replaceable is even easier as you can remove the coil/wicks and rinse separately), shake the water out, blow out the remaining water droplets and let dry over several hours or over night. Many folks do a dry burn before refilling, but I see no need of that. I refill the clearomizer, let it sit a few minutes so the ejuice works its way into the wicks, and start vaping. After maybe a couple of weak puffs, they work as good as new.

I do this with both cheap kanger M3 mini-clearomizers (non-replaceable 1ml units) as well as with my larger Triton 2.4ml coil replaceable tanks. (Basically a Triton-threaded kanger T2)

Cheapest clearos around: https://www.fasttech.com/products/1307200
The price is for 6 in a box. If you throw them away, you don't feel guilty. They still take some washing and last (for the most part) a couple of weeks.

They are 510 threaded, but you can get an adapter...

I like those clearomizers. They do fit on the Volt Spinners, correct? Are the tanks glass or plastic? Do the mouth piece screw on?
