then dried it with a blowing compressed air through it. I put it on my battery and pressed the button by accident and smelled an absolutely horrible smell and when I filled it with juice and took a drag I could taste that horrible burnt smell and it wont go away. Any suggestions? Am I screwed?

Cartomizers are tricky, temperamental, and need time to clean. Generally, the best solution that I've came up with is soaking them in alcohol over night in an ultra sonic cleaner. For about 3-4 hours I'll run the machine then let them sit. If you don't have one, just let them soak over night in a bowl. In the morning, find yourself a fan and place the carto in the grills of the fan for another 8-12 hours. I've done this everytime when I need to cycle through old cartos are it does work for me.

It also depends on how thick and the color of your juice is.

Good luck!

Yuck just get a new one. I gave up on cartos long ago. If you can't wash it I don't want it. BTW those things could probably harbor mold if not dried completely. Back in the olden days when we used cartos- I boiled them a couple times then put in a 250 degree oven to dry them out for about 30 min then left them all night.

I haven't been using cartos long enough to have cleaned one yet, but I agree on watching out for oils and stuff from a compressor. I'm saving my cartos up and going to try PBusardo's method to clean them when I have 8 or 10 to work with. Link is here. Don't know if it will work for me, but that's the plan.

Off topic, I've spent the past hour or so cleaning a few stardusts, a couple of eGo-C atties, filling stuff and generally tidying up my vape gear. Was just thinking I might post about cleaning gear, checked in here and saw your post Ravage. You beat me to it :2cool: and with a good question too!

Back on topic, lot's of good suggestions here. Hope things work out for you.

If you can get hold of some "Everclear pure grain alcohol" I found if I get a funky taste I just let it soak in the Everclear over night and then set it on a paper towel and let it dry naturally. It's worked for everything so far except the "blackcherry". But that's an old style nova so no problem leaving it for only blackcherry.
