If it's just the port that's fried, you could charge it with an external battery charger.

That's a v good idea. I have a gut feeling that it's better for batteries this way too.

Ok so here's an update. I got myself a cuboid mini and another subox mini (for backup).

I rewicked my fried up subox subtank and hooked it up to the cuboid mod and I'm back to vaping heaven.
