Dissamble Russian completely. Grommets and all. Boil water. I find heating distilled in a microwave in a pyrex measuring cup is easiest and exposes least contaminates. Submerge dissambled pieces in hot water in pyrex glass. Swish occassionally. Prepare glass of high proof alcohol. 80 proof vodka is fine, everclear if you got it. Remove components from hot water bath once it starts to cool, run under hot water, submerge in alcohol bath for a couple minutes. Swish several times. If you see residue drifting in glass, repeat previous procedure. Set out to dry completely (alcohol evaporates pretty quickly but will collect in inlets/channels and best to leave for an hour or two). You have a clean rig.
Edit: My Russians have been pretty clean though, but it's a good habit to get into. I've had some thing just covered in machine oil and debris that wasn't immediately apparent.
Edit 2: Please don't use Captain Morgan. Isopropyl is a good option for the metal components but will probably eat your isolator, o-rings, and mak
tank alive. If all you have is Isopropyl, take all your o-rings off and simply do the hot water bath portion for them and the mak window. Additionally, I would recommend taking apart your deck and washing the isolator separately with the o-rings though that's kinda troublesome cleaning. Don't do the isolator portion if this is a one off cleansing, but don't use this as a cure-all common cleaning method for all components as you kinda don't want to really be messing with that (isolator/or isopropyl alcohol cleaning), and it's going to deteriorate with use and need replacing anyway (the annoying thing you don't want) regardless of how laid back your
vape is. If that's all greek to you, that's perfect, just as long as you understand not to clean your plastic components in isopropyl and there is a half-life on a pretty annoyingly important piece of plastic in your deck.
