I have a few Kamel carts that I really didn't enjoy the taste of. No big deal taste is subjective to the person. I went to backwoods last week and ordered 3 flavors to try and they came today. After watching a couple videos I spun the Kamel out of my carts and refilled. No luck... I could still smell and taste it. So I boiled the Kamel carts twice. After boiling I tied them in a sock and put them in the dryer for a half hour. I can still smell the Kamel on the carts but I figured I'd give it a shot. Refilled with Backwoods 80-20 and no vapor at all. Forgive me I'm a noob, but everything looks ok in the carts. Anyone have any ideas ?

you put them in a close dryer?! wow.

anyway, haven't had this NOT work for anyone yet...

get a rubber pen/pencil grip.. shove one end on a turkey baster, the other end fits a carto perfectly. "power wash" with hot water. spin the water out. dry in oven at like 150 for 15 minutes. set over night.

In the morning, they'll be like brand new. I've been refilling with many differentl flavors, testing the water with different juice vendors.. no residuel flavors yet. and I haven't had to throw a carto out yet either.. almost a month of perfect vaping and none in the garbage, all working like brand new.

Bloog states that their carts come with a cap for easy refilling. Anyone know what they are talking about? Do they mean the condom?

No, they are talking about the shape of the mouth end plug. It isn't flat across the top of the carto and has a slight funnel shape to it. Supposedly you can drip into that and it would guide the juice down. But in reality it doesn't work :) However it does have a small lip around the edge that makes it easier to take the cap off without using a tool of some kind.

So sorry I wrote you back about a different topic. Thank you for clarifying that for me about the cap.

it works with like 2-3 drops to top off a cart but I agree it is a pain and I just pop the cap off and fill like normal.

Got your back on this one popeye...
It's the easiest and least messy of the methods I have tried.
The only difference is, I use one of those rubber bulb syringes you use for ear wax (new of course...Lol)
Seems a little bit easier to handle than the turkey baster, plus I'm pushing a little more water thru each time...

Thanks for the idea...

After drying overnight 3 out of 5 are working. The dryer must have not been hot enough to dry them out. I did manage to chip up the black stickers on the carts in the sock bouncing around. Thanks for all the tips guys, next time I'll try the turkey baster.

I boiled them based on my concern of getting juice on my hands by flushing them. I didn't have any gloves. Is the content of the carts enough to cause harm?

If it were, I'd be a dead man.

But seriously, I've had juice all over my hands in several mishaps, and as long as you wash your hands directly thereafter, you'll be fine.

Was it something I said?
I beat up my stickers the first time I boiled and used tongs to try to hold them still while flushing with a syringe, they get soft when hot and are easily marred.

Awesome idea on the ear wax bulb, THAT is my new tool, but I'm using a baby booger sucker, and actually, no it's not new! (but I guess I could run it through my autoclave!) Guess it's now my baby blooger sucker!

The last two batches I've run were at 175 degrees for 2 hours. Give them about 30 minutes to cool and they were ready to fill. No ill affects yet...

A lot of folks do the drying by putting them in the oven at a low heat... not sure for how long. The sock+dryer was a new one! But I'd think it would still be a little steamy inside that sock and not thoroughly dry out.

can you show me a picture of what you're talking about? I just can't visualize how you're attaching a syringe to a carto???

It works, but it is slow, and like Reddy says it's best when only topping off a few drops, not for refilling. But I still prefer those tips for their easiness to remove, and because the funnel shape collects the tiny drops that usually condense onto the regular flat mouthpieces, helping avoid getting liquid on the lips.
