Decided to try the blue foam, but after washing the foam in hot water, washing with a pinch of detergent, and soaking in peroxide I could still smell it. I then put all the sheets in the top rack of the dishwasher, and ran it through an entire light cycle with no soap.

Worked great, leaving no smell or film, and the only thing I taste is the flavor of the liquid in the cart. Just thought I'd share for anyone else who might also be able to taste/smell the new foam after trying to wash with other methods.

Hi-

Thanks for posting -

I didn't wash or clean the blue foam and I just spent 3 days in troubleshooting hell trying to get rid of a horrible bitter taste :-x in my new SD.

Washed foam thoroughly w/water and dishsoap and let dry overnite (like an air filter) and now the blue foam is the best packing material I've ever used.:D

Gives a great tasting, very reproducible vape  just using it as the entire cart packing.(no springs, wires or other voodoo)

The blue foam obviously comes coated with something that volatilizes in the atomizer.

My new SD Mk2 is now perfect.:)

Agree with angelique. Most soaps have an added fragrance and that fragrance seems to attach to the blue foam, flavoring it. In my case, vaping dawn was not fun lol.

I agree... while I didn't try vaping it after I washed it initially, I did notice that the smell of the soap was there and pretty strong. A spin through the dishwasher removed that smell and things are working great!!
