So I'm vaping for about a week now with my eGo-C Twist and Vivi Nova clearomizer. Have been using the same menthol juice this whole time, so just refilling when that's needed. Is there any reason I would need to wash this clearomizer as long as I'm not having any problems with it so far? Should it be cleaned every X number of days or anything?

And when I do clean it, how is that done -- do I need to throw away the wick thing in there now and replace that at the same time, or does the wick also get washed out and re-used?

Still such a noob!

I have been using this exact same setup as you for the last 3 weeks now. It definitely depends on the liquids' pg/vg ratio and if you have any backup tanks on how regimented and detailed your cleaning process is. I have been running my 2.4 ohm head on the vivi these last three weeks now. I take it apart nearly completly and rinse it it thoroughly. I focus mainly on the head. I blast the colied wick with hot water the most to clear some of the black buildup, and I even wring out the top or loose wick(s) as best as I can. As for using the vodka i have heard it works like a cleaning agent,( ie isopropel alcohol) but tastes better after. Dry everything and blow it out if you can. Do this when you notice a significant change in taste and vapor production.Usually 2-3 tanks full. I try to stay away from "dry" burning because it seems unsafe. Please expirienced vapers, correct me if I am wrong but dry burning a silica or cotton wick could leech its own chemicals into you juices and intern inhaled. I don't want to inhale silica fumes. Btw try YouTube for some simple tips on modifying your vivi for better hits.

I`m not an expert but as for dry burning, I use cotton wicks so dry burning them will scorch them so i only dry burn when I`m ready to re-wick and with the wick removed. A couple of quick blasts, blowing on the coil, gets all the burnt crud off and leaves the coil nice and clean ready to re-wick and go again (after checking the coils hav`nt moved and are nicely aligned) :)

My "dry burn" is firing the atomiser (attached to the battery) without a wick installed whilst gently blowing on the glowing coil for a second at a time, this burns any deposits off the coil.

Hi Spirit, I have found that wick devices (vivi, ce4, T-2) tend to separate the liquid and leave the darker liquid at the bottom of the tank. Even if the head is firing just fine, I clean them to get rid of the gunk.

If you're vaping clear or light colored eliquids you should be able to top off the clearo a few times before a good wash is needed. Dark eliquids? One or 2 fills, tops. They gunk the coil up faster.

Some use vodka or alcohol to clean. I use distilled water after running hot tap water in it and shaking. I drop the clearo in a container of DW overnight....take it out in morn to air dry on a paper towel or wash cloth.
