Ive seen alot of different methods for cleaning tanks out, what are some other solutions to soak your gear in besides vodka?

I only ever use water, warm preferably. Occasionally I'll use something to wipe things down, paper towel, qtip, etc..
Rare instances of trying to get out a flavor that won't go away, soaking in PGA(Pure Grain Alcohol) might help.

I wash all my tanks in warm water. I take a coffee cup and fill it half full of tap water, pop in in the microwave for a min then drop my tank parts in and when the water cools take the parts out and dry with a paper towel.
