I take mine apart and soak in cheap vodka... Usually once a week for clear juices, every couple days for thick dark juices... Then let dry overnight before reassembly refilling etc

I also switch tanks and flavors a lot throughout the day so you may need to do it more often if you use one tank all day

I use hot hot water. If I had vodka around, they would never get cleaned ;-). I just rinse, Pat dry, then let sit for 24hrs. Then, if they need it I'll do a dry burn if it looks like the coil is nasty.

That's why I use the cheap vodka ;) I can't stand the stuff unless it's in jello shots. And I'll be honest here I'm way too lazy and impatient to make those often lol

I don't have a single coil that has burned out in over five months. The coil wick "goes away" before the coil does. I will be able to see just how long the coils can truly last as soon as my 2mm silica wick arrives. I wish that we could screw the coil directly into the battery without the tank as dry burns stink to high heaven sometimes. I don't like my tanks to smell like this. Oh well, The ultrasonic tank kills these odors anyways. Vape on! :vapor:

Okay, I have no idea how to do a dry burn. I tried one, but it smelled burnt so was afraid I was destroying the wick, so never tried it again.

I fill my coffee pot about 1/4 full, run it through the machine without grounds to heat it.
Meanwhile, take apart the tanks and rinse the parts in cool clear running water, then put all the parts into a small stone crock (about the size of a three cup measure).
Pour the hot water over the parts to cover with about 2 inches of water and let set until the water cools to very warm (not hot).
Drop in a denture cleaning tablet, let sit for about an hour.
Drop in a second tablet (because they are cheap). Let set another hour or two.
Remove the pieces and rinse again in cool clear running water.
Spread on a paper towel to dry - usually overnight.

I vape alot. I switch tanks once the juice turns black - usually every 4-5 topoffs.
I've only lost one coil so far - just died - and one half of one wick which just split in half.

My Triton tanks never retain any residual smell or taste, no matter what juice I'm using. :vapor:

ArchDame, nice technique. I have to remember to get me some denture tablets!!

I do soak sometimes in vodka, cause the alcohol gets into places the water can't. I don't remember where we were discussing that, But I'm sure BigBen does, where something won't leak water, but does leak alcohol, due to surface tension or some other chem property. But I'll only do alcohol when it's really dirty or "flavor soaked", like after Voodoo or Belgian. Definitely vodka soak going into Belgian. And since I have a supply of distilled water, it's usually my final rinse, as it won't leave any minerals or stuff...

I'm seeing with a little care, not letting coils go too long between cleanings, that the coils can last a long time, and tanks can last really long, barring a crack or an electrical issue.

It's nice to get serious mileage from the $7 investment...;)
