Cleaning new Atty?

So I've ordered my second PV and I need to know something. Should I clean the atomizer before I use it? I just don't want to get this nasty "primer" taste in my mouth for a couple of days. Would cleaning it be a solution? Or does the primer stick to the atty till it gets vaporized? Or should I just use it and quit being a sissy? It's the 510 if you were wondering.

Did you drip the new atty on your first device? The primer burn doesn't last all that long for me on any new atty. Certainly not days...

Calumet King--NO--that primer is needed for the atomizer to break in--if you clean it, the atomizer will burn up. It takes time for the mesh to fully wick the e-liquid--Sun
Sorry, new to this myself, but so far from everything I have been reading most people seem to clean their atomizers before using and then drip them to get them going again. I was just reading a thread where a guy boils his first thing before he ever uses them, and other people agreed that this solved some of their problems as well.

What am I missing here?

And another that soaks in Everclear first. Differeing opinions. Many have said, 'vape through it' although the suggestion is 'puff through it'. I did that on mine. They're ok now.

I just soaked a new one in Everclear. I suspect it will work.
