Cleaning new hardware

Whats the tried and true way you guys clean brand new hardware (rda, gen, ect) to not taste that nasty metal flavor? The main one I'm talking about specific to me is a trident v2 clone, yes I woulda gladly got the authentic one but just like all the other good high end stuff its impossible to find, anyway do you boil it, soak it in rubbing alcohol, soak in anything specific? Whats a good process to make the cheap stuff steril and tasty? Thanks

So far for me just boiling has been enough. If you still taste yuk then try boiling again and then soaking in alcohol. Don't leave it too long in alcohol. It might be hard on the orings and rubber insulators.

old toothbrush and a 50/50 mix of vinegar & water does the trick...

rinse it well and you are done.

just make sure to dry EVERYTHING. clones have a tendency to rust if you just let them air-dry.
Same is possible for genuine parts, but that hasn't happened yet.

Do not use rubbing alcohol. It is poison. Use vodka or pure grain alcohol, like Everclear.

I just dis-assemble and wash thoroughly in hot water and dish soap. The detergent gets rid of all the manufacturing oils. The vinegar and water mix should do the same. Rinse well, dry. Hair dryer on low can speed that, and prevent any possible rusting.
