I basically treat my glass bottles like my canning jars, wash with soap and hot water, good rinse and if I'm feeling really ambitious I'll give them a (do not shock the glass with immediate temp swings) boiling water bath, empty and turn upside down to dry on a paper towel. Plastic just wash and rinse :)

Isoprpyl acohol would be a big NO I reckon! That's what we don't wanna be vaping, right? So cleaning with it would inevitably lead to vaping it.

They're only plastic bottles so if hot water's good enough, I'll go with that! I don't use anything massively strong- just Virginia and RY4 although my next batch will be Virginia with a Honey boost! Heheh! Can't wait!x

+1

I'd stay away from Isopropyl (Rubbing Alcohol) assuredly in plastics, JMHO, Everclear is actually stronger and cheaper than using your good vodka FYI...

Good luck :)

Thank you for that. Yes, there is no way in hell I am putting Ketel One to clean out bottles unless I double its use up as a shot after...

Funny you said that, I use a shot glass to soak my clearo's and cart's and every time after pulling them out I think, "ya know there really can't be that much in there that could hurt me". Really seems like alcohol abuse pourin' it down the drain

Hey guys!

I've got two bottles here which I wanna reuse but one tastes like Virginia and one tastes like RY4...is hot water the best way of cleaning em out and getting rid of the flavour or do you have a better idea?x
If I let hot water run long enough it'll do the trick.

You can add a few drops of Iso Prop into the hot water, let sit for a while, then wash out with hot water and it'll get rid of any smells. Hot water running for 5 minutes has worked just fine so far.

Isopropyl alcohol has been used for decades by pipe restorers to exorcise ghostly remnants of pipe tobacco flavors. The inside of a well-smoked briar tobacco pipe with its thick layer of ash and tar is vastly more porous than plastic. For that matter, so is the briar itself. You just let the pipe dry thoroughly. No pipe restorer or pipe smoker has yet been poisoned.

The stuff you should NEVER use is "rubbing" or "denatured" alcohol. That stuff has poisons added which don't evaporate. Read the label!
