I posted this in the clearomizer forum and got no replies, so I thought I would post it here since it is a Halo product.

If you don't change flavors and the juice is very light, do you need to ever clean your mini tank?

The reason I ask is that I use Halo's G6 Mini Tanks.

I use Tribeca predominantly. It is a very light yellow in color.

I was cleaning them after about 7 fills with distilled water and then switched to vodka after reading several posts saying how good it was.

I soon had two cracked mini tanks after a vodka soak.

I contacted Halo and their response was to not "ever" clean any of their mini tanks for any reason. The coils could be damaged.

So, now I am confused. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Of course I hope to get the longest life out them as possible. I know they are only four dollars, but what the heck......they add up.

the response to not 'ever' is confusing. maybe they know something i dont, mebbe Randle can chime in to clarify.

if it's the same flavor, and it gets constant use so the juice doesn't have a chance to gunk up, then regular rinsing with just warm water may work out well.

it's a bit of a conununudrun...countdumdum...conditionerum....it's an odd thing that your cleaning method appears to be causing tanks to crack. i clean mine using denture cleanser or PGA and only had one crack when i dropped it in the running disposal....i shouldn't have reached in for it....but i digress...

TLDR: if it's the same thin juice, and it never really has a chance to "gunk" up, then rinsing should be fine. if she complains about flavor loss or the tank is difficult to breathe through, then it may be time to swap out the tank or give it a more thorough cleaning.

I found TriBeCa to be not the cleanest vaping juice. I think there's some sweeteners that accumulate and eventually gunk it up.

Despite what the rep says, I think a distilled rinse/soak is fine. Especially if you notice the dregs of juice in the used tanks getting darker. Rinse, dry, repeat.

Doc, you are the judge and jury here. Are the used cleaned tanks still making vapor? Other than a few cracks, those mini's do last a while.

Doc, run your experiment. Take one or two brand new tanks, mark them somehow with electric tape or a sticker. Don't rinse them, just refill. Compare that to your other tanks. (iirc, you document usage and all.)

You are in a good situation to run such a test, as you have a very consistent base. :)

It's hard for me to tell as I'm always changing flavors, and I often mix flavors. And we know some juices vape very clean, others don't. I think the 2 ends of this spectrum are Torque and Belgian Cocoa (or Voodoo.)

(I'm glad no one is "recommending" a dripper or rebuildable atomizer with sub-ohm coils and a mechanical mod! I see that so often in the new member's area, lol.)

It would be nice if Halo came out with a Triton size battery that was automatic. I bet you both would like the 650 or 900mAh capacity.

Give Mom our best. :toast:

I am running an experiment right now on a single tank. I am at 13 refills.
I am also carefully draining the dregs of darkened juice out each time, before adding fresh juice.
That's about .8 ml per refill since the wick is already wet.
I am hoping to get a full week out of a mini tank. That's three refills per day.

It would be wonderful if the Triton had an automatic. I have some members PM me with other brands that have automatics, but I would prefer to stay with one brand if possible. At some point, I will get tired of refilling and recharging all day long.

I think it's because the minis are meant to be disposable. I don't think a nice hot water bath is gonna hurt anything but probably going over board with boiling water and so forth isn't good? May crack the tanks, seals and so forth.

I never liked the mini tanks so didn't have them long enough to know but just threw out some stuff to see if anything sticks. LOL

I am somewhat trapped with the G6 since I need an automatic battery for my mother.
The mini tank is so much easier to fill than the carts are.
Also, I can look at it and estimate how much longer my mother can go before she needs a refill and battery swap.

Oh without a doubt. And if she's soing well with it/happy with it, no need to change at all! :toast:

I am using the largest black battery, but they don't last through two fillings, so it's easier to fill and change the battery at the same time.

I can always try the Triton, but that's a $50 experiment when you add all the components and shipping. I will have to wait for another good sale. Pretty much spent my budget on the Black Friday sale.

The Kit with the discount is about the same and it doesn't offer the high capacity batteries.

If you'd like, I have a purple 900 triton battery I'd be glad to send you so your mom can try it out, see if she can get the hang of the button. I don't have any triton tanks anymore, but you can use the mini tanks on the larger battery. I can crochet up a lanyard for it too. Just pm me the address.
