I am a 30+ year smoker so my pallet is in question at best. I find that as the day goes on and I vape and test creations my ability to accurately taste diminishes considerably, guess this is vapers toung. I can taste new juice late in the evening that are bland and am dissapointed with to wake up and taste again after a nights sleep and find it quite nice. Causing me to be uncertain in my capacity to sample and create new juices. I need a way to cleanse my pallet anyone dealing with this and found a solution?

The last time I had vaper's tongue it lasted 3 weeks. Three. Horrible. Weeks. Nothing helped. I tried pickles, hot sauce, pickles with hot sauce..you name it. You can try all of that, but the only thing that has ever worked for me is time. It's like the switch just gets flicked back on too..just as suddenly as it goes away, it comes back. Mine is never a full loss of flavor, everything just tastes off and gross.

I find my tastes wax and wane as the day goes by as well, even on a good day. Interestingly though, my best time of day is late at night, shortly before I go to bed. I have also found that some foods really affect my tasting my vape. I avoid sweets because they mess up the flavor and make the nic burn my tongue. Chips and salsa however, make my vape taste a lot sweeter.

I'm going to be making some plain peppermint and some unflavored at my next mixing session, just to have on hand for when things are getting dulled down. Maybe I won't go through that full on hell I did last time. Also, just another point for comparison, I haven't smoked in over a year. Weird stuff.

I find shoving my face into a bag of espresso grounds, eating/drinking actual food/drink, and putting the vape down for a while helps a lot.

I also find I get fatigues much more quickly when my test mix is overflavored. I know this is the case when I get an alkaline note on the inhale. Doesn't help that I really like flavors like isoamyl acetate (TFA Ripe Banana) that go berserk at modest percentages.
