So far there really isn't a sure-fire way to save a clogged or dying carto. But a lot of people believe the #1 reason a carto dies is because crud from the juice eventually builds up on the heating coils enough to stop heating the juice enough to vaporize. I have tried it all. Vodka, then boiling, has worked for me in the past.. But I only did it twice. Of those 2 times, about half the dying cartomizers came out working.

When I've tried JUST boiling them, they ended up taking so long to dry that I ended up just throwing them back into the dead carto box. I have heard some people say that they soak in alcohol, boil, then bake in the over or toaster oven. I haven't tried baking them after boiling yet, but I'm probably going to next time I run out of cartomizers :p I'm hoping that will be the best method. The cheaper method might very well be just buying new cartomizers. Some of my cartomizers have lasted 2 days, and some have lasted 2 months. Most last a week to 2 weeks honestly. If I stretch one to two months, its because I have NO money to buy new and I have to go through a long period of having a carto that just barely works lol.

I see some recommending buying a small steam cleaner and it someone dries the carto quickly i guess? idk. I'd love to try it.

I clean mine using this method (and you can probably make one of these at home, but I'm lazy and bought mine ;)):

The Plunger - MyFreedomSmokes.com

or

Cartomizer/Atomizer Cleaning Kit - With 10ml Control Syringe, Luer-lock compatible w/cleaning tubes and instructions

And then I dry them using the reverse-spin method:

Reverse Taryn Spin - YouTube (shown at around 3:00 - 4:00 minutes into the video). For larger cartos I usually have to spin them twice to get every drop of water out, but even then it only takes a few seconds to get them dry.

If I'm getting a tight draw because of gunk on the heating coils, I stick a long embroidery needle in the center tube and keep pulling the needle through and wiping it off until I can pull the needle through and it comes out clean.
