Cleaning tanks

Is it bad to clean tanks with alcohol? Usually I will soak my tanks (evods, aerotank, iclear) in a cup of alcohol for a while, then let it soak in a cup of water, then dry it out and add a different fluid. It seems like some of my newer tanks that I haven't cleaned yet vape a lot better though. They seem to produce much denser clouds and have more potent flavor. Maybe I'm not drying the wick properly? Or is it just a good idea in general to not use alcohol?

Might not be the best thing in the long run for o rings and the like but I have had no issue with it.

Of course I have switched to good old tap water and have no issues there either

As long as you flush/rinse all the alcohol out/off the parts you'll be fine exept for maybe the O rings like mentioned above. I've been doing it this way without any trouble since I started vaping. It certainly gets rid of the ghosting flavor problem.

I like this policy, but at the same time allowing something washed with Iso to sit in a room temp place for about an hour would virtually assure any residual iso has evaporated given it's volatility.

Not terrible bad you should clean in hot water afterward though to remove any residue. I clean in 190 proof Grain. I use it to clean up new units with, machining oils and such. for just a clean out, I put them in a ultrasonic cleaner, nice hot distilled water with 1/2 ounce of grain in it, 3-4 ounces in me and off we go. Just call it cleaning the operator button. remember as mentioned to remove all o rings.

So would acetone but I won't use it either. Just a matter of preference and for the amount of cheap vodka I use the cost is not even worth worrying about. I mostly just use it for wiping down my attys and recycle any used for soaking stuff a few times which makes it a cheap option for me.

For tanks I just rinse them out using plain old hot water. Sniff for signs of old flavor. Repeat as required.
For atomizer heads and cartomizers is soak in Iso for 24 hrs followed by a through rinsing with hot water.
Atomizer heads get blown out and dry burned. Cartomizers get blown out and set aside for at least 24hrs to dry out.

Kind of off topic, but I see a lot of good advise on cleaning tanks here on ECF, but remember its a good idea to clean drip tips frequently. I do mine with rubbing alcohol and rinse with warm water at least once a day if not more often.

to ecf and the wonderful world of vaping. I just pour a bit of Everclear (PGA) in mine and give them a good shake, rinse and set up to dry. I like easy.
