So what's the best practice for this? Soap and water? Vodka?

What size bottle? What was in the bottle? What is the future intended use?

I buy the 10 mL and the 15 mL with dropper tip for 100/$29.99. These, I rarely ever reuse.

My son is a chemist. Degree, job, and does this stuff every day. He says they use the following:

Alconox - Untitled Page on all their lab ware. They mostly use glass. To them, these little plastic bottles are disposable...

He brought me a sample that should last me 6 months...

Not real sure, but it could cost more to clean that little juice bottle than to replace it. ($30.00/100)

I rinse mine out in hot soapy water. I have even rinsed them in rubbing alcohol... But not sure if that's safe or not

I calibrate equipment and have to clean the casings to make sure the calibration label will stick properly. I stopped using alcohol as it dries plastic off and also looks like it might be melting the surface layer. I definitely wouldn't recommend it on plastic bottles used for stuff that goes through your mouth unless they were rated for high alcohol content.

after washing good i flush mine quickly with distilled water, not sure if it helps but it seems like it might get any extra soapy stuff out. who knows ;)

Actually, the only way to be 100% sure you get rid of soap is soaking in water for about 20 minutes (distilled or just tap). For small bottles you have to change the water inside the bottle a few times due to low volume. I guess all juice bottles should count as small for this purpose. I have no idea if it is necessary for e-juice bottles though, I work with industrial stuff not intended for ingestion.
