Hello,I watched a PBusardo you tube video of him cleaning out the vivi nova and it looks pretty easy,And Being a newbie It makes me nervous running something under water that uses parts to burn vapor,Meaning I wouldn't stick most electronics under water. But these parts might not be what is called electronics.
The coils are actually getting water on them when cleaning in the video,This what I don't understand.
Is it O.K for coils to get wet??Just don't want to ruin anything. If I run water over most mods will they still work,This is weird to me.
Is there a link to how these parts actually work,I need to learn.Maybe I will start a post on this.

E-juice is a liquid right? Phils video is spot on. Sometimes I will let the coils soak in hot water if they are really gunked up but as long as the parts are off of your device your good to go. You do need to let the wicks dry a bit before refilling though. Just us paper towels to soak up as much water from the wicks as possible and give them a few minutes to air dry or they wont perform very well.

1. Completely disassemble the Nova tank.
2. Soak the coil in vodka or everclear (or moonshine) for 5-30 minutes. This helps to loosen gunk. I just put a little in an old ashtray. No other use for them now. :)
3. Rinse all parts in warm water.
4. Dry all parts with paper towels and/or Q-Tip. Be sure to squeeze wick with towel to get as much water out as possible.
5. Assemble the Nova except for the top cap and install on your battery.
6. Dry burn (3 seconds on, 3 seconds off) until the coil turns red.
7. Fill with favorite juice.
8. Wait a few minutes so wick can get saturated and enjoy!

NOTE: If you start to lose flavor or vapor in your Nova after cleaning, you need a new coil. About $3 to buy or about $0.16 to rebuild. Some would rather order coils and save themselves the hassle of rebuilding. I prefer to rebuild. YMMV. Good luck!!! :vapor:

PS~ NEVER EVER EVER RUN YOUR MOD UNDER WATER. JUST THE TANK.

And I thought the last of my Everclear would never be used... :D

No point in making Hunch Punch with 1 1/4 bottles of Everclear, one is enough, Good God. lol

My heads last 4/6 weeks with plain ole tap water.

Yeah I'm not saying tap water will destroy the atty but it has the potential to do weird things to the flavors no?...especially the first few burns. Also everyones tap water is different, hard..soft...excessive iron or other minerals if using well water.

Just a suggestion, a gallon of distilled is less then a buck and will last a long time if using for a final rinse.

I did my 1st cleaning and put back on the 2.4 head and did a dry burn.Didnt see it glowing, and The coils looked black So I put on a new head.
The 2.4 head was not old maybe a week.Any juice I used in the Vivi was getting real dark so that's when I decided to do a cleaning, I got stuck with some 100% Vg so I don't think it was good for the Vivi.I just got new juice from Backwoods (Malty Toffee) which does have some Pg in it, 30%.So I hope the life span is more with that juice.I'm going to use 70% Pg 30% Vg from now on.Malty is the only juice Backwoods makes with that much Vg but didn't realize that till after I bought it.

I thought it was just me that doesn't see the coils turning red. If someone could address this that would be great. Am I not dry burning long enough? I know I didn't pop the coil since I have reused it and it works. Thought I was just blind or something. :p

You are not dry burning long enough. Just keep pulsing the button while the wick is damp for several seconds, you will hear it sizzle. In a while it will start smoking and will kinda smell like burnt sugar. This can take a minute or two of on and off pulsing. JUst keep at it and the coil will get brighter and brighter, once you can see the coils let it cool then rinse and dry. I usually just blot the wicks well and put it back together and reuse. It may take a few minutes to start wicking again. The longer you go between cleanings seems to make for longer dryburning.

Will do that then the next time I clean them. Thank you so much!

Just a point to ponder....

Juices from Heather's Heavenly Vapes are the single cleanest burning juices I have ever tried. No 'gunk' on the wicks. No 'motor oil' or darkening at the bottom of the tank. Requires less cleaning and good 'til the last drop! PLUS, at $12 for 30mL, it's a vaping bargain. Not to mention, the best tasting juices on the market, IMO.

I probably didn't do it long enough,I didn't throw out the head either. If I do it again later do I need to prime it in any way.
