What, exactly, did you soak in alcohol? Please tell me.

OK - you have three pieces.

1 is your battery (with the light on it)

1 is your atomizer ( gets warm when you use your PV )

1 is your cartridge (with the packing material in it)

They are three separate pieces and you assemble them, as you well know. They come apart, they go back together.
=============================

The atomizer (atty) (one that heats up when you vape) is where you put the drops of juice.
You have threads (for screwing it into your battery) on one end.
You have an opening on the other end. This opening is where you drop in the drops of juice.
Try to line your juice up so the drops land on that metal piece you see. That metal meshy piece is called the *bridge*.

Awaiting your response,
Paula

You soak the atty (atomizer - the middle part of a 3-piece e-cigarette) in alcohol. Some people recommend an edible alcohol like grain alcohol. I've been using vodka since it's a clear alcohol but I need to see if I can get grain alcohol in PA.

I'm a moderate vaper and I swap attys every weekend and put the one I've been using in alcohol and swish it and leave it over night. Next day I take out and shake out the cleaned one and set it to dry on paper towels while I continue use the other one all week. You can speed up that cleaning process but it's just easy for me to do that way. The next weekend I switch to the cleaned one etc.

I also switch my carts to blue foam once the stock white stuffing stops wicking well. An sometimes, if the cart isn't tasting or wicking well, I rinse out the blue foam and cart parts in hot water and dry with paper towel then refill.

Re batteries - every time before I remove a battery to charge it, I use a tissue or my t-shirt to make sure the threaded end of the battery is clean and has no juice on it. You don't want to get any juice in the screw-socket of your charger or the battery won't make good contact, and also won't make good contact with the atty if a film of juice builds up on the threaded battery end. I haven't found any juice there yet because I am pretty careful, but if I ever do then I'll also clean the threaded end of the atty with a tissue.

Any bets on whose advice I'm going to take? ;)

LOL I think I would have to agree with you. It amazes me the more I read the more confused I become. Clean, don't clean. Alcohol, plain water, boil, let sit. I think I tried every possible way, except for using a hair dryer or oven to dry them. And think it all comes down to, what you "feel" does the best job.

I personally use the IP Alcohol method and it seems to work just fine. Although I had a bunch of used Green Smoke cartos and I used the boil method, three times in order to get them cleaned up. Hell they are not cheap from this company and supposedly not refillable. But after the boil and refilling them they have been working just fine. I must also say I tend to be a carto person, I like the ease of use and by using the LR get a great vape out of them. I do drip occasionally also. Hell that's the fun of being a vaper, you have choices and none of them include inhaling carcinogens, so there are no wrong ways or methods. IMHO
