clearo problem, rubber taste

Having a major headache now.

Opened a fresh ultimate xl clearo, topped it up, waited a while - wonderful taste.

On fifth vape it started tasting burnt. Inverted it, got fine, became rubbery taste.

Tried seating the seal higher, removing stopper seal, using end cap and using ce2 rubber tip - persistent rubber taste.

Dismantled it, fluffed the wick, dry burn, topped it off, waited, vaped it horizontally/incline - rubber taste. It even makes popping sounds like mad every time I vape.

I have even tried using no seals at all just ce2 tip and still, rubbery taste. I'm getting super frustrated. And yes, the coil and the wick around the region is all clean and wet. I'm frustrated.

Please help!

ive gone through another 2 clearos.

1st clearo - persistent rubber taste
2nd clearo - burnt taste
3rd clearo - rubber taste again.

argh.

I've tried tilting them up when I vape. And I check often - the wicks between the coils are damp. Theres a distinct rubber taste, not a burnt taste. Quite frustrated. Sigh.

I also have this problem! I noticed the newer versions of these (CE3) have the coil relocated lower down in the unit. Time to sacrifice one to see if some minor fiddling can fix this

I have had a rubber/plastic taste for me it's the ce2 tip itself! The one with the hard plastic. I just use a drip tip.
