Ive had a problem with juices - I can't taste many of them.... I finally found a B&M shop and tried a few different flavours. Thrilled to bits that I could taste them, I bought a few.
But now I'm home, settled back to enjoy them and they taste rubbish! They're no better than any of the others Ive tried.
I'm going to put in a word for "steeping" (aging, maturing) here: If the juice was made very recently, the flavor may be dull and/or soapy. This is even more likely to be true of complex flavors (e.g. caramel apple rather than simply apple)-- they need time to blend. Many "tobacco" flavors such as RY4 are complex.

Try putting your complex flavors away for a week or two, or even longer. If you want to speed the process a little, some people claim to have success with leaving the cap off for a few hours and shaking the bottle periodically.

Thanks, you're all so helpful!
I really enjoy vaping and I love not stinking to high heaven. I moved up from 18mg to 24mg and that was enough to get me off the cigs, almost by accident a few days ago, so I'm vaping away, feeling fine and no withdrawal pangs yet, so I'm quite happy.

Just be careful, when you get a device that works better it will also improve the efficiency of the nicotine delivery. 24mg/ml which you require with your current system may be too much on something that is producing more vapour. ;-)

I've smoked for (gulp) 25 years and I spent a fortune on cigarettes, so if it takes me a few weeks to break even, then so be it.

Nearly 35 years for me. You can do this but you'll have some bad days and you'll have some really great days. As time goes by the bad days get fewer, and the great days happen more and more often. Make sure you drink plenty of water as well!

I'm starting to think its a bit of both; they need steeping AND my setup isn't doing them justice. I have noticed that on the rare occasions I get a leak and a mouthful of juice, it actually tastes better than it does when I vape it!

Thanks for those links! Only the vaguest idea what I'm looking at there though :)

I've had a look at Evods, the trouble is, I don't like the look of them - I like the clear tanks. I don't care how well it works; if its not nice to hold or doesn't look .... well, *pretty*, for want of a better word ... I wouldn't be as happy using it.

And let's face it, once I get the setup right, Ive managed to accumulate enough juice to keep me going for months (I've just remembered that Ive got another 3 bottles arriving any day now)!
Going to go and look at more kit ... that link looks interesting!

You might want to go back to the B&M and see if they have some CE4's or something else that will work on your batteries. Don't ever buy anything on Ebay, everything I've seen there is the cheapest of the cheapest junk, here's a list of UK vendors: Vendor list

Brilliant advice, thank you. I hadn't thought of that at all, but it makes perfect sense!

And Ive increased my water intake from zero to ... LOADS recently. So I'm still having to leave my desk every hour, but at least I'm in the bathroom not outside in the rain!

Good idea ... my friend got hers from there and I don't think she has any complaints! It would give me more time to look properly

Though we have different tastes, most of us care about the aesthetics somewhat, so that's not hard to understand. Two of the longer-running threads on ECF are Pictures of your set-up and Show us your girly, pretty, decorated, pink! I subscribe to both just because I enjoy seeing what other people do and enjoy. :thumb:

Oh good grief ... I didn't even know you could get all that "stuff" for them!!

I'm not looking at those threads again for a bit - I need very little encouragement to cover mine with Hello Kitty stickers!!

One step at a time ... I'll find something that works and then I'll get the glitter and sequins out :D

You can do it cheaply if you are into crafts. You can wrap devices in coloured contact, apply enamel and glass beads, whatever you fancy.

I can understand not liking the Evods. They do have a small window to see the liquid but my failing eyes have trouble in low light. The T3S might do the job though, it's full clear plastic similar to the Evods except it is 3ml capacity and doesn't have the metal cover around it, so nothing to obstruct your view. Make sure you get the right heads for the T3S as the Evod and Protank heads won't fit into it, though the difference is only that the T3S heads have a smaller flange that will fit into the base while the others don't fit in and the base can't be screwed on properly.

You are going to be amazed when you get a system that matches your batteries. Would love to see your face. :D

If you don't want to spend too much money, just get an Evod with 1.8 ohm heads, as I said.

I'm pretty sure the battery you have is indeed only 3.3 volts while the cheap CE4s are often 2.4 or even 2.8 ohms so the power applied may be less than 4 watts

Sorry, I don't know anything about volts and ohms. I've been looking online and I think you're right about the battery voltage. So, 1.8 ohms is better than 2.8? It's not a case of the bigger number being better?

I've checked the website for the b&m store and their clearomisers are 2.5 - 3 ohms ... so that's saved me trip to town anyway.

That's correct, the higher number is not necessarily "better". It's more important to get the correct resistance for the voltage your battery is putting out. In this case I'd recommend the 1.8 ohm coils on a 3.3 volt device.

Yes, I know it's a steep learning curve. I had a huge advantage in that I've been dabbling in electronics all my life. The basic concepts are not hard though. Take your time, find something that works, and you'll soak up the basics through osmosis ;-)

A very popular form of decoration is charms and/or beads (from a craft store) attached with an o-ring (from a craft or hardware store) around the tank or battery. This is also relatively inexpensive. :)

In this case I'd recommend the 1.8 ohm coils on a 3.3 volt device.
I have the most success with this combo on eGo-style batteries.

Just a note about volt and ohms. Ohms and volts is like this.

V
-----
R * I

V is the voltage, R is Resistance,or ohm. And I is for Ampere. Please dont ask me for why the Ampere is shortend I, but so it is.

Resistance * Ampere, (R*I) Equals to the voltage.
Voltage divided with Ampere (I) is the resistance.
Voltage divided with Resistance = Ampere.

So if you have 3.3 volt and a 1.8 ohm, you use 1.83 Ampere (V/R=I).

Just a note, and I am sure you in the future get use of that little formle I gave you, even if that not meens much for you right now.

I agree with all the suggestions about steeping- my Favourite juices were all very disappointing at first but luckily thanks to ECF I went back and tried them again later and they are great. I also think your tastebuds are all over the place the first month or so. I'm 5 weeks in now and find Im finally getting consistent taste. I would suggest you learn about dripping too as its the easiest way to check when your juices have steeped enough and are ready to deliver the pleasure you've been waiting (and waiting and waiting...) for. And I find some juices are great but not worth filling a whole clearo or carto for- I just like to vape them off the Dripper for a bit and then move on to something else. Well done - and although it has at times been frustrating this is the most fun I've ever had quitting smoking!!
