Are CE5 Clearomisers the same, no matter what the brand is?

Hi

Im using a Halo Ultra tank with a CE5 but I'm lucky to get 8 days out of a clearomiser. Tried to clean them out but they just don't taste right after. At £5 a go, I'm reluctant to buy many more direct and have found them online for $1 each but it says Ego CE5. Can the Ego CE5s be used with the Halo, or is it as long as it says CE5 they can be used with anything, and does anyone know of a better Clearomiser I could try?

Thanks a lot

The Halo Ultra Tank is a 510/Ego device, so most any devices with either 510 or Ego threading will work, including CE6. There is quite a variation among CE4 and CE5 brands, but I have had good experience with Vision and Bauway products. Kanger also has a big following. Some cheap brands may give you a burnt taste due to inferior coils or wick material, so the very cheapest may not be the best choice. It may take some trial and error to find what works best for you, so don't order large quantities until you find what you like.

In regards to life, it can vary based on the clarity and viscosity of your liquid, so eight days is not unusual. Most people get one to two weeks, some a bit more. One way to keep your costs down is to get a clearomizer with replaceable heads, like the CE4+. The heads normally cost about 1/3 as much as the device. Good luck in your hunt!

If it is a CE5 you should be able to replace the head (wick+ coil). The CE4 is disposable and the head cannot be replaced. They are also known as the Stardust and were the first clearomizer available. They are top coil and give a warm vape. If you like the vape you may want to try a Vision brand Mini Vivi Nova or an Innokin brand iClear 16 Single Coil Clearomizer. They both have replaceable heads.

I'm going to put my vote in for the Mini Protank 2.

They are a bottom coil clearomizer so I think they have better flavor than the CE5. It will be a "cooler" vape than a top coil tho.

They are VERY easy to completely disassemble and clean and dry. And the best thing is that you can easily and inexpensively replace the heads.

They are made of glass so you can't throw them around, but because they can be completely disassembled, you can replace the glass in them if they break.

They are a bit more expensive initially, but their inexpensive head replacement and the ability to replace the glass makes them better in the long run.

If you are on a tight budget or are rough with your clearomizers, the Evod is a plastic alternative it uses the same basic technology as the Mini Protank 2 but with a Plastic and Metal construction. You can also use the same heads as the Mini Protank. So these are easy to maintain as well.

I prefer the Mini Protank 2, but you can't go wrong with either one.

I mainly use a Nova which is built similar to the CE5. The heads (wicks/coils) are replaceable in the CE5.
Look up "dry burn" on youtube. Ir restores the head to like new. My heads last me several months with a weekly dry burn.

Its pretty simple.
Rinse it out
remove tank and silicone piece
blot wicks dry
fire battery (in bursts to keep it from turning off) until smoke stops coming off the coil. (just base and head attached)
cool
rinse again
reassemble and fill - It will take a few puffs to dry the water
