Ego Vision Clearomizer is a Stardust. All you need to do is put hot water in it and shake it like a thermometer about 5 times, shake out the water as hard as you can, then put it on your battery and burn it empty for 6 second bursts with a few seconds in between to cool. After about 10 or so bursts it'll start to smoke and then glow red in the coil (look down into it). Once it starts glowing let it glow for a few seconds and then "dry burn" it for about 4-6 times. Now take your Stardust to the bathroom and bust out old handy dandy hairdryer and put it on your stardust leaving about half of it open for the air to come back out. Don't try to hold it while you're doing it, pin it against the counter of your vanity or on the floor if that's not an option. Spin it around and within around 30 seconds the thing will be pure white in the wicks and bone dry. Add your juice to a point just ABOVE the wicks (ignore the marker lines) and let that badboy sit for about 15 minutes to wick and you're back in business. Enjoy doing this every few days because Stardusts pretty much suck now. What you have done is effectively burnt all the carbon and other gunk off of your coil and returned it to a state that is close to factory. This whole process it called cleaning and dry burning. The wick is made of silica or ceramic and it is not flammable so don't worry about burning it up. The silicone inside is also heat resistant which is why they use it for baking sheets that can take up to 500 degrees so don't worry about that either. I've cleaned my stardusts a dozen times before the tank either breaks or the coil gives up the ghost. That's why you might want to look into a rebuildable atomizer, which the Stardust USED to be but is no longer since they caught on.

I recommend the evolution of the Stardust, the Vision Vivi Nova. It's 3x as much money, it's big, it's ugly, you might need an adapter to streamline it on your PV and make it look a little better, but it's truly and easily rebuildable so you can replace your wick and coil at least once a month. It's 15 bucks, comes with 3 atomizers that you can swap out, each is a different resistance. With a 20 dollar investment in wick and coil (maybe more maybe less depending on quantity/quality) you can rebuild one for a LONNNNGGG time. They also can be upgraded with a metal tank which although it makes it harder to see your juice levels, is extremely durable. Especially against citrus juices which are notorious for cracking plastic tubes and or making them opaque (which begs to ask what am I vaping? Plastic juice?). Plus I don't see any signs that say that Stardusts are BPA free. As an added bonus the metal tank doubles as a self defense blackjack mini-club in case you get into a hairy situation like with a zombie apocalypse or crazed shopper around x-mas. :)

Thanks for the info! I think I'm going to order a Vivi Nova this week (c'mon payday!) and see how that goes. Have you tried the rebuildable Stardusts? Are they any better? I liked the long wick of my Vision clearomizer, and it looks like the rebuildables that I saw only have the short wicks.

There ya go! Stardust = Vision.

$2.95 for the replacement coils/wicks is about half of what I pay for a V2 clearo... so this gets 'em down to the "why bother cleaning" stage.

I'll wait and see what the other place(s) ask... I'm kind of loyal to a few vendors.

Thanks for the heads-up!

Health Cabin has what THEY are calling the V3 Vision. It has the replaceable wick/coil unit. As far as I know, nobody stateside is carrying these... yet. But I hear-tell SmokTek will have them by this weekend.

Until then, here are the Health Cabin links:

Full V3 unit:
Vision eGo Clearomizer V3 (Exchangeable & Detachable)

Just the clearo tank:
Tube for Vision eGo Clearomizer V3

The wick/coil replacements:
Coil Head for Vision eGo Clearomizer V3

I've never ordered from Health Cabin. Are they good? How long does it take to get orders?

I am surprised to read about these problems, as all my stardusts have lasted at least 2 months, and are still going. I do clean and dry burn fairly often, depending on what juice I'm using. I also have a vivi nova, which i really like, but stardusts are still my favorite. Sorry you're not having the same kind of experience.

You might want to check youtube for videos on maintainng both stardusts and the vivi. Also, there is a thread here that may help http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/gotvapes/291586-gotvapes-dummies.html

I've had the same experience as you with my stardust clearomizers.
Only difference is that after running through hot water I would soak them overnight in Everclear then let them dry for 12 to 24 hours.
Good as new regardless of the juice that was in them before.

I've got quite a few of them from several vendors and the stardust with the colored tips have worked the best in my experience.
