At least double the juice and greatly reduced battery life, makes me think I should just stick to what I currently use.
Nah, technology HAS IMPROVED since the days of the Protank. The Protank used silica string for the wick material, if I recall. Today's tanks use cotton, a much better wick material. Today's devices have improved air intake for a better draw, too.

To piggyback on the durability of the CLR coils, mine outlast the tanks that take them by about a factor of 100.

Of course, me and joytech, but lets say you want this tank, I would suggest an Oddessy totally wicked tank, it's the only tank that works for me and these coils frankly. Yes it is more expensive than Joytech offerings and buyebest is probably the cheapest option to get one, but I totally wish I had 3 of them instead of about 11 dead joytech tanks.

I am the sole person having this issue at least to this severity (and to be fair, I do have a couple Joytech tanks left) but for me getting the coil to read was really really hard.

The coils are fantastic and almost invincible. The Ego tanks... Meh.

I estimate I go through about 75 coils per year so I'd need only about 1500 to get me through the next 20 years. Like Anna says, at least they're small. This way, if the FDA eventually bans these, all I'd need are another dozen devices and the ingredients for mixing my own juice, and I'll be set for life maybe. :D
When I changed to subohm I went from 6ml per day to 16ml per day. Think about it hard before you do it.

You might find that it's worth trying to rebuild those Protank coils. Using pre-made coils from Fasttech, already wicked, makes the job simpler and only costs a few cents per coil.
I still am very happy with low wattage MTL silica based heads myself. I stocked up a couple hundred for the long run and keep them when they're toast, so I can rebuild them in the future. If you try it a couple times and it works, you can have peace of mind that you won't run out down the road. Good luck and keep enjoying your vape!

Thanks for the suggestion. I did order a small amount to try it out and after figuring out why I was shorting them out, I'm now in vape heaven. Instead of 65c per coil, they'll now cost me 5c per coil. I no longer need to try and get just 1 more day out of them when the flavor starts suffering. I can change them out every other day, if need be, and it still isn't costing me much.

Try Aspire Cleito tanks and coils. I've been using them since 2015 and don't bother with anything else. So much newer types have come on the market such as multi head coils and .15 ohm coils etc but Ive tried them but never felt the Cleito coils aren't enough... I use the .4ohm coils at about 47.5W. You can vape at 60W to but after 50W it's so decent you don't really need to go higher, well that's subjective I guess. I use 80VG liquid. They last a month easily. Great flavour, no leaks, fantastic build, good clouds and easy to fill and change coils. Also for a sub ohm they don't tear through liquid like crazy either.

I'd previously tried the Kangertech sub ohm tanks and they were rubbish, fidlesome and leaky.

The Innokin I-Sub V tank and .5ohm coils are also decent, don't ever leak and give good flavour. The coils and tank cost a little less and they are stylish tanks but Cleito flavour is better if you don't mind paying just a little more... They give a good vape at about 45W

I'm not a HUGE cloud chaser I just like a good nic buzz and immense flavour and a nice dense but not mega cloud with as little hassle as possible and the .4ohm coils have never made me feel I need more wattage or less ohms, though they do come in .2ohm also.... Easy to put coils in, easy to fill, never leak and amazing flavour. Really can't go wrong if you're into 'plug-and-play' - ie not rebuilding etc. Still big clouds but not the type you see on youtube to do cloud tricks with etc, but still very good ammount of vapour...

Never had one dry hit or leak - ever.

The ISub V is good if you want to save a little each purchase with as good life and build quality, a reliable system which I still use as the tank came free with my mod, so why not still us eit for my second or third flavour (always best to have a couple of or a few tanks with different flavours in.)

I could never go back to Nautilus type tanks now, these sub ohm tanks above are so good and an excellent introduction to sub ohm vaping.
